FRANKLIN COUNTY GOES LIVE
ALL SUMMER, 2010
Visit Our Sponsors
The All Arts Council continues in the roots of our Summer Sounds series when the 20th season of concerts starts at Bay Day on Sunday, July 4. Summer Sounds is Franklin County's premiere outdoor concert series. The complete schedule is shown below. Be there or be square.
Click here for the schedule posterWe host live free concerts every Sunday evening throughout the summer. The lineup of new performers and new sponsors includes a medley of bluegrass, country, folk, gospel, pop, and classic rock-n-roll. The 2010 series will travel to Highgate and St. Albans Bay with nationally known performers. Each summer concert is free. Settle in on your own blanket or lawn chair and enjoy outdoor family music. Bring your own bug spray.
[feel free to post this schedule anywhere] Please note: There is no "official" Summer Sounds concert on July 11.
We urge the audience to attend one of the two exceptional
benefit concerts for our musical friends that day.
There will be no Summer Sounds concerts in St. Albans City in 2010. The city remains in arrears for prior concerts.
"Free" concerts are expensive to stage. The host towns, local business sponsors, and the All Arts Council hire the bands, create the publicity, and set up shows every summer weekend. Summer Sounds welcomes our sponsors of this popular series: Chevalier Drilling, Desorcie's Market, Drummac Septic Service, O. C. McCuin & Sons, Ray's Extrusion Dies, and Scotty's Taxi. These businesses need your support to continue. Please remember to thank the hosts and patronize the sponsors.
Besides the music, food is a big part of the fun of an outdoor concert. Local community groups will host each event with special activities, family fun, bake sales, grilled hot dogs, and even ice cream socials to make every Sunday a great family holiday in the park. This year, the AAC, BPW, Foster Grandparents, Highgate Library, Highgate Methodist Church, Highgate Historical Society, and St Albans Recreation host the concerts in each town. Watch this space for the details.
