Get a jump on the season at fairs in Alburg, Fairfax, Franklin, and North Hero. ART FOR SALE
ALBURG--Find the Alburgh PTO Holiday Craft Fair at the Alburgh School Gymnasium on Saturday at 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. The 8th Grade class will sell lunch and hold a silent auction. There will also be a 50/50 raffle. All proceeds benefit the Albugh School PTO student event and the Albugh 8th grade class trip. Email or find them on Facebook for more info
FAIRFAX--"Come for breakfast, stay for lunch, and shop 'til you drop" at the 14th annual Holiday Showcase & Craft Show in the gym at BFA Fairfax on Saturday at 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. Proceeds benefit the BFA Fairfax Varsity Baseball Team's spring training trip to the Jackie Robinson Training Center in Vero Beach, Florida. FRANKLIN--The Franklin Recreation Department holds the 2025 Craft & Vendor Fair in Franklin Town Hall on Saturday at 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. "Support some local vendors and crafters. Buy some Christmas gifts or something for yourself."
NORTH HERO--The North Hero House hosts an Artisan Market on Saturday at 11 a.m. - 4 p.m. There will be several local makers and even a psychic reading and the North Hero House will be open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Find them on Facebook for more info.
ST. ALBANS--The Artist In Residence collection spotlight is on ceramics artist Barbara Flathers. The art and fine craft cooperative features paintings, fiber arts, stained glass, sculpture, lamps, pottery, folk art boxes, scarves, hats and more by 38 Franklin County and surrounding area artists. ST. ALBANS--The Maple Run Art Show continues with an opening reception at Collins Perley Sports Complex this afternoon at 4 - 6 p.m. The reception is a chance to chat with the art teachers and enjoy refreshments. The selection of artwork includes student artists from all over the Maple Run School District The show continues through November 23 and can be viewed any time during normal hours.
STOWE--Bryan Memorial Gallery features First Snow, Pleasant Valley by T.M. Nicholas. It is in the Stowe Gallery and on Facebook. The gallery has exhibits of the landscape painters of New England. The main showcase in Jeffersonville is open Wednesday-Sunday 11 - 4 and the Stowe Gallery is open Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday, 11 - 4, and Friday and Saturday, 11 - 5. Appointments are available. FRANKLIN--The Haston Library hosts Upcycled Christmas Crafts with Mikhala Kaseweter on Tuesday at 4 - 6 p.m. The Northwest Solid Waste District program will show how to make tree decorations and "gingerbread" out of paper and cardboard. Call the library (802.285.6505) for more info. ART YOU CREATE
MILTON--The Milton Artists' Guild hosts Yarn & Yak with Kelli Shepherd on Wednesday at 5 - 7 p.m. The free, drop-in workshop is for projects to knit, crochet, or craft with fiber. All skill levels are welcome. No registration is required.
ALBURG--The American Legion hosts the Alburgh Beginner Line Dancing Lessons on Friday at 6 - 8 p.m. This class is for absolute beginner and for those with experience and offers the latest dances as well as some older ones. HIGHGATE and MONTPELIER--Fifth-grader Roslyn Fortin from Highgate Elementary and an Opera House at Enosburg Falls theater kid (IN THE HOUSE camps, Annie, Peter Pan) has been elected Vermont's Kid Governor. She shines on stage and now as a young leader. FROM THE STAGE TO THE STATEHOUSE
More than 1,000 fifth graders from 47 Vermont schools voted to elect Roslyn from among the seven finalists. Her platform addressed homelessness. The Kid Governor and her cabinet will take their oaths of office during a ceremony at the State House in January.
ST. ALBANS--Bellows Free Academy Theater presents the Little Shop of Horrors in the Performing Arts Center on Thursday-Saturday at 7 p.m. and with a Sunday matinee at 2 p.m. A florist shop worker in the comedic horror rock musical raises a plant that feeds on human flesh and blood. The show has music by Alan Menken and lyrics and book by Howard Ashman. THEATER

MILTON--Social Sundays continue at the Milton Artists' Guild Art Center with free weekly art classes for families at MAG on Sunday at 1 p.m. Each week offers a different project. Stay for 30 minutes or the whole two hours. Click here for more info. WORKSHOPS & CLASSES
MORRISVILLE--River Arts presents the Needle Felting 101 Painting with Wool workshop with Carmella Cyr at the Morristown Centennial Library this afternoon at 4 p.m. The class will show how to sweep, edge, and comb with a needle to control fibers and bring designs to life. ALBANS--14th Star Brewing Company continues the Lakeshore Community Event Series Singer-Songwriter Competition at 14th Star on Monday at 6 p.m. 24 singer-songwriters including Bryan Blanchette, Donald Davis, Kip de Moll, Timothy Fitzgerald, Shane Goodwin, Levi Mendes, Charles Schramm, Abigail Sherman, and more will compete weekly for a live studio album in Nashville, studio time at West Street Digital, a Taylor electric acoustic guitar, gift certificates, and more including cash prizes paid directly to the top three finalists from the Rachel Bissex White Light Fund. NW Access TV was there when Beth White introduced Women Build Planes--A Milestone in Aviation History for the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute on October 16. Ms. White shared her own journey into aviation and introduced the Modern Rosies of her apprenticeship program at Franklin County State Airport. It's on YouTube.

FRANKLIN--The Haston Library hosts a Book Sale at the Vendor Fair in Franklin Town Hall on Saturday at 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. There will be "lots of books, DVDs, and audio books to choose from." All sales by donation to benefit the library.
HIGHGATE--The Highgate Library and Community Center continues the Muffin Monday Senior Social Hour on Monday at 10 a.m. The program is a community connect to brainstorm opportunities for senior support. Each week will also include coffee and tea, as well as fresh pastries. The program will run every Monday morning and is free for anyone 55 and older. Registration is mandatory as space is limited. ST. ALBANS--The Eloquent Page Mystery Book Club meets for Can You Solve the Murder? by Antony Johnston on Wednesday at 6 p.m. Bring your detective notebooks for the murder at Elysium, the wellness retreat set in an English country manor. The interactive crime novel is told in 200 numbered sections. The detective/reader solves the mystery by choosing which leads to follow, who to interview, and when to accuse suspects. ALBANS--Mornings, Muffins, and Mysteries at the St. Albans Free Library takes up House of Glass by Sarah Pekkanen this morning at 10:30 a.m. The psychological thriller about a young nanny who may have been murdered follows the nine-year-old girl who witnessed it and stopped speaking. The group reads a variety of mystery genres and meets the third Thursday of each month in the Martha Dalton Meeting Room. Click here for more info.
SWANTON--The Swanton Arts Council Writers' Group meets in person at the Swanton Free Public Library this evening at 6 p.m. They meet the third Thursday of each month to share progress and join in the discussion about longer projects and anything else about writing, reading, publishing, and more.
