FAIRFIELD--Hearthside Handcrafts meet at Bent Northrop Memorial Library on Saturday at 10 a.m. Fiber arts and crafting enthusiasts connect to share skills and create memories on the second Saturday of each month. Click here for more info. ART YOU CREATE
JEFFERSONVILLE--The monthly Bryan Memorial Gallery Sketch & Sip continues on Wednesday from 5 - 6:30 p.m. "The vibe is low-key." Props, objects, and tables will be available to create unique still lifes. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own drawing tools, beverages of choice, and even headphones. ST. ALBANS--The Artist In Residence collection spotlight is on emerging fabric artist Anne Standish. Her work is part of the permanent collection in the chapel at Northwestern Medical Center. The art and fine craft cooperative features paintings, fiber arts, stained glass, sculpture, lamps, pottery, folk art boxes, scarves, hats and more by 38 Franklin County and surrounding area artists. MORRISVILLE--Experience the elegance of ballroom dance at River Arts with the rotating Dance at River Arts series on Sunday at 1 p.m. Choreographer and stage director Taryn Noelle will cover the waltz, foxtrot, and American tango. VERGENNES--Lake Champlain Maritime Museum hosts the annual Abenaki Heritage Weekend with the Native Arts Market on Saturday and Sunday at 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. Activities include storytelling, craft demonstrations, cultural tables, drumming, singing, and more. ST. ALBANS--It is Classic Movie Night (and Matinee!) at the St. Albans Free Library with Cary Grant, Eva Marie Saint, and James Mason in Alfred Hitchock's North by Northwest on Thursday at 6 p.m. and reprised at the Friday matinee at 1 p.m. The 1959 comedic and sophisticated tale of suspense and mistaken identity has an innocent man pursued across the country. FAIRFIELD--Investigate Memory Loss and the Power of Music (plus ice cream!) with Karen McFeeters Leary at Bent Northrop Memorial Library on Friday at 6 p.m. Music can help sustain cognition and quality of life for people with memory loss. SHELDON--The Sheldon Historical Society presents Northern Vermont in the Revolutionary War with writer and local historian Jason Barney on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. He will discuss how the invading British armies impacted small towns. "A sweet taste of Vermont history will follow the presentation."
MILTON--Social Sundays continue at the Milton Artists' Guild Art Center with free weekly art classes for families at MAG on Sunday at 1 p.m. Each week offers a different project. Stay for 30 minutes or the whole two hours. Click here for more info. WORKSHOPS & CLASSES
MORRISVILLE--River Arts has two workshops this week.
The new, three-workshop series, Art in the Open: Plein Air Mornings with River Arts, with Vermont artist Evie Mason begins on Saturday at 10 a.m. - 12 noon. Classes will be held each Saturday through June 28. Students will meet at River Arts and walk together to nearby local landmarks that inspire painting. SOUTH HERO--Island Arts presents the first of this year's three-workshop series--a Handcrafted Greeting Card Workshop with Pat Brennan at her studio at 275 South Street on Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. Ms. Brennan will teach basic card-making with two one-of-kind card kits with envelopes. The cost is $12 plus, at your first class, a tool kit ($7) that includes a dispenser with double-sided tape, glue dots, sponge daubers, and a little bling. Bring scissors if you have them. ESSEX--The Double E kicks off the Old Stage Summer Series on Thursday through Saturday. MORRISVILLE--Moog's Place has long weekends, Thursday through Wednesday, of music in June. Michael Perry leads Open Mic Night tonight. The John Lackard Blues Band turns the tables blue on Friday. Mandolin Hank's Daydream Inventions have the patent on Saturday. The sound system takes the day off on Sunday. Seth Yacovone plays a solo acoustic set on Monday. And Jim Charonko is there for Wednesday night live.

MILTON--The Friday Night Live Music and Buffet gets jerborned as Arrowhead Golf Course presents Jerborn on the deck on Friday at 6:30 p.m. The teriyaki chicken buffet starts around 7 p.m. Both run until 9 p.m. The buffet costs $15 per person ($7 for each child). EAST FAIRFIELD--The Atlas Tango Project returns to the 2025 Meeting House Music Series on the outdoor stage at the Meeting House on the Green on Friday at 7 p.m. "Doors" at 6.
Formerly known as the Austin Piazzolla Quintet, the ATP plays the only Friday show of the season. The quintet of James Anderson, violin; Tony Rogers, cello; Phil Spencer, bass; Ben Thomas, bandoneo; and Jonathan Geer, piano, performs Argentine composer Astor Piazzolla's Tango masterpieces along with their own original compositions.
There will be plenty of room on the Green to "kick up your heels and dance the night away." Grab and Go light fare and desserts will be available for sale or bring your own picnic.

ALBANS--Northwest Farmers Market fills Taylor Park with live music, handmade crafts, locally grown food, prepared foods, free kids activities on Saturday from 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. Tyler Mast plays and the Missisquoi River Basin folks display this Saturday. FRANKLIN--Uncle John's Band plays an afternoon of tunage on the back patio at the Dick Wright Pub on Sunday at 4 - 7 p.m. The Pub's house band brings our rich vocal harmonies and rockin' renditions of 20th Century favorites in celebration of Josh's birthday. NORTH HERO--Island Arts presents Making Magic with Ken Burns, a Jacqueline Schwab piano-lecture in the Homer Knight Barn on Sunday at 4 p.m. Grounds open at 3:30 for a picnic on the green, weather permitting. Ms. Schwab's solo program will feature pieces from her soundtrack performances on Ken Burns' documentaries plus some of her own work. There will be vintage American folk tunes and standards, spirituals, traditional Celtic tunes and more. She will speak about the tunes and Burns' unusual way of working with music. Admission is free. WESTFORD--The Westford Music Series presents Aaron and Alaria fresh from Dairy Days in concert in Westford Common Hall on Sunday, at 4 p.m. The event is by donation at the door and also features a covered pie raffle. ALBANS--Busy Summer Sounds favorites IncaHoots begin the Summer Concert Series in Taylor Park on Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. Concerts are free for all every Wednesday evening through August 27. 14th Star Brewing Company and eats from Maharaja Spice will be on hand for food and drink. HIGHGATE--The Highgate Library and Community Center has changed its hours starting this week. ST. ALBANS--The St. Albans Free Library hosts two book groups this week.
Mornings, Muffins, and Mysteries will discuss The Maid by Nita Prose this morning at 10:30 a.m. The group reads a variety of mystery genres and usually meets the third Thursday of each month but is gathering on the second Thursday in June in the Martha Dalton Meeting Room.
The Banned Books Group ("read them if you dare") meets to discuss Nickel and Dimed--On Not Getting By in America by Barbara Ehrenreich on Wednesday at 6 p.m. The book was challenged in a Pennsylvania, school district by a parent who claimed that the book promotes "economic fallacies and socialist ideas," as well as promoting the use of drugs, and belittling Christians. The Book Group meets after hours at the library. Please arrive before the doors close at 6 p.m.
