ST. ALBANS--Fight the cold and snowy blahs with the St. Albans Community Arts Winter Blues Arts Festival in St. Albans City Hall on Sunday from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. ARTS FOR THE WINTER BLUES
There will be performances, classes, demonstrations, festive exhibits, and more, all by local artists, crafters, and musicians, and all free.
GypsyWind takes opens the Festival at 10 a.m. followed by a stretching and strengthening class by Studio 3 Dance & Fitness at 10:45 and a dance performance at 11:30. First Step Dance offers a ballroom dance class and a Vermont Ballroom Dance at 1 p.m. There will even be an open mic.
There will be classes throughout the day on the ancient needle art of nalebinding (materials provided), a stamping class by Amanda Gervais, all day painting demonstrations by Corliss Blakely, Claire Payne Studios, and Maryellen Vickery. Exhibitors include Bees on Broadway, Corliss Blakely, Franklin County Quilt Show, The Frozen Ogre, Amanda Gervais, April Gilbert, Jennifer Drew Kerch, Josephine Maskell, Claire Payne, Ilamae Vinje, Wolf's Den Armoury, and more.

SWANTON--The Swanton Arts Council's final gathering for the three-part Series Real Artists Don't Starve book discussion group meets at MVU on Wednesday at 6 p.m. (signs outside commons will direct you to the correct room). Based around the book by Jeff Goins, this week will be Part 3: Money. Email for more info. IN THE SAC
The Swanton Arts Council Writer's Group will meet at the Swanton Free Public Library this evening at 6 p.m. Members can share progress and participate in a memoir-writing workshop, a local authors' panel, and anything else about writing, reading, publishing, and more. ST. ALBANS--Tonight is Movie Night with a free screening of the Wizard of Oz at 14th Star Brewing Co. in the Room at 6:30 p.m. FILM
Follow the yellow brick road to the Room for the classic silver screen musical from 1939. Make it a Movie and Dinner Night; attendees are welcome to bring their own food to enjoy during the flick. Come early, claim your seat, and enjoy some movie/beer trivia. Free popcorn will be freshly popped for all who attend this all-ages show.

SOUTH HERO--The Blue Paddle Bistro presents Carol Ann Jones in a solo show tonight at 6:30 p.m.
The show will be inside; the Blue Paddle has limited seating and a small bar so do call ahead (802.372.4814) to assure a seat.

SOUTH HERO--Snow Farm Vineyard features singer/songwriter Carol Ann Jones for Wine Down Friday on Friday at 6:30 p.m.

ST. ALBANS--14th Star Brewing Company presents Full Share on the taproom stage on Friday at 6 p.m.
The eclectic rock band formed in 2016 to feature the vocal capabilities of Andrea Costello. Full Share performs a broad repertoire of music covering songs from Jesse J, Kelly Clarkson, Bruno Mars, Sheryl Crow, Heart, Boston, Kansas, Journey, and more with Ms. Costello, lead vocals, saxophone, and flute; John Bardeau, guitars and vocals; Tim Campbell, keyboards/synthesizers and guitar; Pete Coutu, bass and vocals; and Brian Crogan, drums and percussion.

ST. ALBANS--Twiggs presents singer, songwriter, guitarist, and band leader Tim Brick in a solo gig Friday and the acoustic music and strong vocals of the Buck Hollers on Saturday. Shows begin at 7 p.m.
Steve White, Matt Parisi, Tim Wills, and Dave Vallett started the Buck Hollers in 2015. After years of playing together at St. Luke Church they now focus on traditional and contemporary folk, classic country, rockabilly, bluegrass, and pop rock.

ESSEX JUNCTION--On Tap offers The Duel, the Plattsburgh-based duo of Summer Sounds favorites John Geno and Kevin Connelly, on Friday at 7 p.m. Then on Saturday, Graziano Schofield & Slim take the stage at 5 p.m. GS&S plays roots and rock-a-billy music with Phil Graziano, guitar; Ken Schofield, percussion/harmonica; and Missisquoi Slim Scott DuBois, "dog house."

ST. JOHNSBURY--Catamount Arts' Bluegrass Night returns with popular host band (and Summer Sounds favorite) Bob Amos & Catamount Crossing with this month's special guest Jim Rooney on Saturday at 7 p.m.
This is a free event but donations are gratefully and enthusiastically accepted. Registering via the website does not guarantee a seat for this show but it does give Catamount a heads-up. Seating is first come, first served. Click here to register.

ST. ALBANS--Sean Jarvis hosts Open Mic Night at Durty Nelly's Irish Pub on Wednesday starting at 6:30 p.m.

MORRISTOWN--The Morristown Centennial Library hosts a Vermont writer from the Dominican Republic on Saturday at 4pm. Author Julia Alvarez will read from her fiction, followed by a conversation with the audience in the Vermont Humanities Council event. ON THE BOOKSHELF
Ms. Alvarez' four novels include How the García Girls Lost Their Accents and Saving the World; she has published poetry, written nonfiction, and numerous books for young readers. A recipient of a 2013 National Medal of Arts, she lives in Vermont.
STOWE--The Jewish Community of Greater Stowe presents Mark Greenberg in an exploration of Woody Guthrie: Dustbowl Balladeer on Sunday at 2 p.m.
Mr. Greenberg uses readings from his prolific prose writings, recorded and live examples of his music, and slides of Guthrie's own art and of photographs to examine the always-rambling Guthrie’s life and legacy in the Vermont Humanities Council event.
