ST. ALBANS--The MVU National Arts Honor Society hosts a Coffee & Crafts night at the Traveled Cup on Friday from 6 - 7:30 p.m. CHRISTMAS GIFTS and EVENTS
A 12" wreath hoop, Vermont Flannel fabric strips, and bow will be provided to make a rag wreath. The cost is $20. Attendees can pay Lindsay Didio in advance or pay the night of the event. Email Lindsay to reserve your seat.
ST. ALBANS--Saint Paul's United Methodist Church hosts its annual Holiday Craft Show. There will be arts and crafts, American doll clothes, maple products canned goods, baked goods, a silent auction, luncheon and more.
SWANTON--There will be a Swanton Arts Council Board Meeting and Update in a location to be determined on Monday at 5:30 p.m. All are welcome. Click here for the agenda. IN THE SAC

ST. ALBANS--The ninth annual Festival of Trees community art and music continues this week. Proceeds from this year’s annual auction, and other Festival of Trees events, will benefit the St. Albans Community Arts. TREED
Friday opens the Glacial Gala with music, dancing, and food at City Hall from 7 p.m. - midnight. The tree and art auction to feed your heart will benefit Franklin County Animal Rescue. NTC Culinary Arts students will feed your tummies with the buffet. There will be a cash bar. Admission is $40 per person.
Saturday is a busy day in the festival. Breakfast with Santa kicks off the day at St. Mary's Parish Hall at 8 - 10 a.m. Tickets are $5 per person. Journey to the North Pole to walk off breakfast, starting at Handy's at 9 a.m. - noon. It's a free, mile-long walk with activities through downtown. Santa's Workshop takes over the Bliss Room for gift making from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. The fifth annual Arts and Crafts Show at St. Paul's United Methodist Church runs from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m.
The Tree Showcase exhibits all the trees with live entertainment and Santa and Mrs. Claus in St. Albans City Hall on Saturday from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. Free.
In a quick turnaround, the Teen Party takes over St. Albans City Hall on Saturday from 6:30 - 9 p.m. Free.
The Vermont Choral Union will perform in the Bliss Room on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. Admission to the concert is $20 for adults, $15 for seniors and students, and free for children under 15.
The Tree Showcase exhibits all the trees again with live entertainment, Christmas caroling, a reading of A Christmas Carol, and a visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus in St. Albans City Hall on Sunday from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m.

MORRISVILLE--The Festival of Lights includes River Arts on Saturday from 1-4 p.m. Events include the Big & Messy Art Space with a giant mural painting, weaving, Play-Doh, blocks, and more; Lantern Making and Seed Mosaics; the Holiday Pop-up Giftshop featuring the work of local artists; plus Ballet Wolcott performing the Nutcracker Suite at 1 p.m. and a Lamoille Valley Dance Academy performance at 2:30 p.m. LIGHTED
All events and activities are free.

ST. ALBANS--It's a Darwinian Day as 14th Star Brewing Company brings in the Natural Selection live on stage on Friday starting at 6 p.m. The trio plays rock and roll favorites.

ST. ALBANS--Twiggs presents The Duel, the Plattsburgh-based duo of Summer Sounds favorites John Geno and Kevin Connelly, on Thursday and New England bluesman Arthur James on Saturday. Shows begin at 7 p.m.

NORTH HERO--The Champlain Islands Economic Development Corp and the Lake Champlain Regional Chamber of Commerce host a gala Holiday Party with Carol Ann Jones and Will Patton live at the North Hero House on Friday at 5:30 p.m.
There will be great food and an extensive silent auction, plus music and dancing.
Sunday ENOSBURG--The Opera House at Enosburg Falls Community Christmas Concert gathers the family together on Sunday at 2 p.m.
The Community Chorus and Enosburg Town Band event celebrates traditional music in Franklin County's historic (and heated) theater. The concert will feature traditional hymns and seasonal songs.

NEW WRITER and NEW ILLUSTRATOR AWARDS (December 15)--The Ezra Jack Keats Book Award recognizes and encourages emerging talent in the field of children's books. To be eligible, writers and illustrators must have had no more than three books previously published. The award includes a prize of $1,000 for each winner. INTERNATIONAL BAD VIDEO ART FESTIVAL (December 15)--Videos shown at the festival are at the intersection of bad art, bad painting and bad cinema (B-movies, cult, camp, trash) but still have not been introduced as an independent category for profound studying. GRANTS TO INDIVIDUAL ARTISTS (December 20)--Integrity Arts & Culture Association Mini-Grants average $250 and are intended help finish a project: art supplies, recording studio time, exhibits, performances, project related expenses, and more.
