FEATURED ARTIST: IN THE STUDIO WITH CORLISS BLAKELY

Nationally renowned artist Corliss Blakely invites us into her studio via her website to see what she is working on today.
"It's a collection of wild plants and berries that I collected on the south end of Butler Island," she said. The painting is on an oil-primed canvas on board. They made golden rod tea, sumac tea, and elderberry tonic that day.
After 25 years off, she has also started painting with watercolors again and painting oils on top of the watercolors as well.
Ms. Blakely has built a body of work in still life and Vermont landscapes in a classically realist style. She has gained fame for her iPad paintings and for the Forgotten Seeds, a Look Within. She is internationally recognized for her work in several mediums, including oil, watercolor, and egg tempera with paintings in collections worldwide. She studied at the Vesper George Art School and The Museum School Of Fine Art. The seventh generation Vermonter lives in St. Albans.
She adds daily photos to her website of the paintings she's working on. Click here to watch the changes.
