FRANKLIN COUNTY--The Big Music Weeks of Summer continue this week with a huge lineup including the Summer Sounds season finale in Highgate. There are shows in Highgate, plus Alburg, Essex Junction, Grand Isle, Morrisville, St. Albans, Shelburne, Sheldon, South Hero, and Stowe. BIG MUSIC WEEKS
HIGHGATE--Drummac Septic Service, the All Arts Council, and the Town of Highgate continue the 27th year of Summer Sounds concerts at home in Highgate with Mark Shelton in the free Summer Sounds concert on Sunday evening at 7 p.m. ELVIS IS IN THE PARK
We have no idea how many stars to expect Sunday night.
"Maybe we should do three sets," Mr. Shelton said. "Rat Pack, Flower Power, and Elvis. Plus who knows?"
Mark Shelton's astounding voice and dynamic performances leave audiences mesmerized in amazement. He has that "Star" quality, to move from the 50s to the 70s with the King of Rock n' Roll as the perfect finale for the season.
His The King Returns concert tours are internationally acclaimed and internationally sold out. His shows have been featured on ABC News, CBS Inside Edition, Good Morning America, and more as well as globally in India, Fuji Television Network in Japan, and the Daily Mail in the U.K. This summer, he has played the Hard Rock Cafe, The Opera House at Enosburg Falls, a Mt. Washington Elvis Cruise, and more. In October, he will headline the Flynn Theater benefit for the American Cancer Society and Vermont's Relay for Life.
Just before the concert, Summer Sounds Social in the Park starting at 6 p.m. The special Highgate United Methodist Church Intermission and Social event will reintroduce a very special young performer and is a chance to visit with friends and eat hearty.
The Summer Sounds concerts are sponsored by the Town of Highgate and the All Arts Council, and underwritten by Chevalier Drilling Co. Inc, Desorcie's Market, Drummac Septic Service, La Quinta Inn and Suites of St. Albans, O. C. McCuin and Sons, and Ray's Extrusion Dies and Tubing.
The community based All Arts Council brings the performing arts to northwestern Vermont. The concerts are always on Sunday evenings, always at 7 p.m., always in Highgate Municipal Park, and always free. Bring a blanket or a lawn chair for the outdoor family music and festivities. SWANTON--Pop Up Pop In Gallery features paintings by David Winchester and Mike Barkyoumb in the temporary art gallery at 23 First Street on Thursday and Friday evening from 5 - 9 p.m. ART ON THE WALLS
Two local artists will show their work each Thursday and Friday evening in the month of August. The "Pop up Pop in" space is a temporary art gallery for local artists to display and sell.
The exhibit is free and open to the public. All are welcome to meet the artists, view the work, and have the opportunity to purchase local artwork.
NORTH HERO--Shore Acres hosts a Paint and Sip on Friday at 5:30 p.m.
Instructor Samantha Bellinger's no pressure social event includes unwinding time and painting a keepsake landscape while overlooking beautiful Lake Champlain. No experience is required. This is the final class of three in this summer series.

ST. ALBANS--The Grind Cafe Summer hosts an art workshop on Wednesday at 11 a.m. This week's project will be Summer Painting.

EAST FAIRFIELD--The Meeting House on the Green has received a $30,000 Vermont Arts Council grant to make the venue handicap-accessible. The entrance has cement stairs now that prevent some from attending the Summer Evenings with Vermont Treasures concert series and other events. GOOD NEWS
Work will begin this Fall.
The next Vermont Treasures event will be the new bluegrass band Northern Flyer on August 25.
Thursday ON STAGE LIVE
ST. ALBANS--Durty Nelly's Irish Pub presents Chris & Erica on their Barefoot and Pregnant Tour in the pub on Thursday at 6 p.m. A little dust on Federal Street won't slow down these events.
STOWE--Harrison's on Main Street has string magician Will Patton and ace flatpicker Mark Struhsacker on the front porch every Thursday night this summer through the end of the month at 6 p.m., weather permitting.
SOUTH HERO--Champlain Islands Chamber of Commerce presents the Nobby Reed Project in the Snow Farm Winery Concert Series this evening at 6:30 p.m.
Live music comes to the vineyard every Thursday evening from June to September. All concerts are free and no tickets are required. The series ranges from classical to jazz to swing to bluegrass to classic rock. Picnicking begins at 5 p.m.; music starts at 6:30 p.m. and ends at 8:30 p.m.
ESSEX JUNCTION--On Tap offers Summer Sounds favorite Jenni Johnson and the Jazz Junketeers tonight at 7 p.m.

ST. ALBANS--Twiggs presents the Americana and original instrumental guitar of Sergio Torres on Thursday, the Balladeer and Bluesman, Cooper and Lavoie, on Friday, and acoustic coffeehouse trio AmerikanaBlue on Saturday. Shows begin at 7 p.m.

Friday
SHELDON--Summer Music at Grace continues with Frevo at Grace Church next Friday, May 26.
The quartet performs an eclectic sampling of music for flute, clarinet, cello and guitar; their repertoire includes world music, jazz, classical, pop, and the newest sounds from today's creative musicians, including their own original compositions.
The two married couples are good friends who share their joy of the music with each other and the audience. Clarinetist Steven Klimowski, cellist Bonnie Thurber Klimowski, classical guitarist Peter Matthews, and flautist Wendy Greenwald Matthews have a program of fun, spirited music by Egberto Gismonte, Astor Piazzola, Peter Matthews, Derrik Jordan, the Beatles, and others. The concert will include various groupings of the four as solos, duos, trios, as well as the full quartet.

ST. ALBANS--14th Star Brewing presents Shake the Band on Friday at 6 p.m.
The Burlington group has Karyl Williams, keys, vocals; Jesse Agan, guitar, vocals; Steven Beaulieu drums, vocals; and Brad Ohlson, bass.
Saturday
ALBURG--The Alburgh Summerfest and Car Show with host band Donna Thunder and the Storm features the Nobby Reed Project in the field on Saturday from 10 a.m. - dusk.
Saturday will be a day filled with music, lawnmower tractor drags, vendors, kids activities, and the car show. Ms. Thunder plays at 11 and Mr. Reed at 3.

ST. ALBANS--14th Star, Vermont Comedy Club, and the Stacie Callan Group present a benefit evening of Laughs For Larry on Saturday at 6 p.m.
Hosted by "Big Fish" Marlon Fisher, the evening features Vermont comedians Mike Thomas, Kathleen Kanz, Paul Church, and Tracy Dolan. All proceeds will benefit the SFC Larry Garner Veterans' Scholarship, established to help Veterans further their education. Click here for tickets and more info.
ST. ALBANS--Music & More at Back Inn Time features the duo of Art DeQuasie and Dayve Huckett on Saturday at 7 p.m.

GRAND ISLE--Island Arts presents 100 Years of Celebrating Life Through Creativity and Art at the Grand Isle Lake House on Sunday at 5:30 p.m.
The harps and voices concert celebrating the partnership between Island Arts, LCATV, Silver Dove Institute and VFW Post 10854 begins with a VFW barbecue available for purchase. The concert starts at 6:30 p.m.

Wednesday
MORRISVILLE--Oxbow Riverfront Park concludes the Wednesday Night Live music series with the Fossil Fuel Band and the MoFo's on Wednesday at 5:30 p.m.
The series has filled the park each week through the summer. The Wednesday farmers market wasn't held at the Oxbow this summer, but there is a rotating mix of food vendors every week and the River Arts' Art Tent offers fun, creative activities for the community while the music plays.
SHELBURNE--The Young Tradition Vermont Showcase features the Irregulars in the Farm Barn Courtyard at Shelburne Farms on Wednesday at 6 p.m. Gates at 5:30 p.m.
The Irregulars are a group of young musicians in Vermont's traditional music scene. They all grew up, went to school and came to know each other in Shelburne and Burlington. The band has tight harmonies, driving contra dance tunes and high spirits.
