FRANKLIN COUNTY--The Big Music Weeks of Summer continue today as Will Patton leads the pack with three gigs. There are three benefit concerts. Summer Sounds is taking the weekend off because we have Field Days in Highgate and find shows in Burlington, Enosburg, Essex Junction, Milton, Montgomery Center, Morrisville, North Hero, four in St. Albans, Stowe twice, Winooski, and more. BIG MUSIC WEEKS
Today through Sunday, Vermont's finest country fair takes to the fields of Highgate as the 42nd annual Franklin County Field Days brings a lineup of the best music, arts and crafts, and of course weeds that Franklin County has to offer. The musical lineup includes great music every day. And it all begins today at noon. FRANKLIN COUNTY FIELD DAYS
Franklin County Homemakers Club will have quilting in the Homemaker's Barn. The Arts and Crafts are bigger than ever. There are "Make and Take" projects every day. Events include rides, the horse and pony pull, atv drag races, poker tournaments, and tractor pulls. There are exhibits galore.
Field Days has headliners each day. Music starts at 4 p.m. today as The Fair starts off with Erica and Chris at 2:30. Maple Creek brings it home starting at 7:30 p.m.
Tomorrow, Buddy the Clown wanders the grounds all day. Watch for a sighting. The Old Man Garage Band opens the day at 11 a.m. Rosie Newton builds up the Main Stage at 3 p.m. and Night Hawk will light some fires starting at 7:30 p.m.
Buddy the Clown returns on Saturday, then Keeghan Nolan starts the entertainment on the Main Stage at noon. Troy Millette plays the afternoon shift, starting at 4 p.m. Bad Horsey rides in at 7:30 p.m.
The Nobby Reed Project lights up Sunday morning at 10 a.m., then the Johnny Cash Tribute anchors the stage at 1 p.m. until the Field Days gates close.
Field Days has "One Price" admission of $10 per day for adults, teens, and children over three feet tall. It includes all midway rides, exhibits, and entertainment. Children under three feet tall are admitted for free. A limited number of rides may be available for small children. Parking costs just $1 per car inside and outside of the gate.

ST. ALBANS--The Artist In Residence Gallery features different artists each month. This month, the spotlight is on jewelry creator Terry Buehner, award-winning art quilter Anne Standish, and mixed media figurative artist Meta Strick. ART ON THE WALLS
The A.I.R. gallery hosts a free meet-the-artists reception with refreshments and a raffle today 4 - 7 p.m. The exhibit continues through the end of August.
The Artist in Residence art cooperative features paintings, fiber arts, stained glass, sculpture, lamps, pottery, folk art boxes, scarves, hats and more by 40 Franklin County and surrounding area artists. It is owned and operated by the artists and sponsors. The gallery, newly reopened at 10 South Main Street, is open Tuesday-Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Click here for more info.
ST ALBANS--The Northwestern Medical Center Gallery hosts writer-photographer (and yr. obedient servant) Richard B. Harper in a special two-month solo show concluding this month. I am exhibiting the familiar sights and waterscapes shot mostly here in Franklin County; several are scenic Highgate.
I work mostly across northern New England, southern Florida, and the American Southwest. My photographs have been exhibited in Vermont, New York, Pennsylvania, and Florida and are in private collections in California, Eastern and Southwestern states, and in Canada. This exhibit includes unretouched original images as well as the blended effects of the digital darkroom. One canvas is a digital painting. I will donate half of the sale of any image on the wall to the NMC Hospital Auxiliary.

STOWE--Harrison's on Main Street has classic country pickin' & singin' with string magician Will Patton and ace flatpicker Mark Struhsacker on Thursday at 6 p.m.
ESSEX JUNCTION--On Tap offers Blues Night with the Nobby Reed Project tonight at 7 p.m. The Duo and the Phil Abair Band take over tomorrow night at 5 and 9 p.m.

ST. ALBANS--Twiggs presents American folk songster and entertainer Eric George on Thursday, multi instrumentalist and recording artist Timothy James Connection, and singer-songwriter and guitarist Tim Brick on Saturday. Shows begin at 7 p.m.

BURLINGTON--The Burlington City Arts Noon in the Park concert series presents the Will Patton Quartet in a free concert on Friday at noon.
MILTON--Carol Ann Jones and Will Patton rock the tent at Arrowhead Golf Course in the Friday Night Live Music and Buffet series on Friday at 6:30 p.m.
You don't have to be a member; the public is welcome. Be sure to come early, usually around 6, to make sure you get a good seat.
ST. ALBANS--14th Star Brewing presents Tragically Hip cover band Glass Onion returning for another T-Hip Tribute on Friday at 7 p.m.
Proceeds from ticket sales will benefit the local Christi Kelli Corrigan Foundation created to raise awareness of Cystic Fibrosis and Organ Donation as well as helping others follow their dreams through the CKC Scholarship. Click here for tickets and more info
STOWE--Spruce Peak Performing Arts Center presents Banjo Dan's Bluegrass Revue on Friday at 8 p.m.
The show features two of Vermont's top acoustic bands, combining the talents of Summer Sounds favorites Bob Amos & Catamount Crossing and The Sky Blue Boys with Carrie Cook. The two bands will join at the end of the show for a no-holds-barred onstage jam not to be missed.
Admission is $20 in advance or $25 at the door. Tickets are available for at and at the door.
WINOOSKI--Justice Makes it to the Last Stop on Friday at 9 p.m.
This is the first time coming to their old stomping grounds since the remodel and new ownership for a fully Justified party in downtown Winooski.
Saturday
ST. ALBANS--14th Star Brewing presents Chris & Erica as part of the 4Cs Fundraiser on Saturday. Music starts at 6 p.m.
The day-long fundraising event will include a Cornhole Tournament, the concert, and Calcutta all to benefit local veteran Corey Miner who was diagnosed with AML (Acute Myeloid Leukemia). "Grab a beer, raise a glass to Corey, and enjoy the free show"
MONTGOMERY CENTER--The INN presents a CEA Say Darling dinner concert on Saturday, at 6 p.m.
Say Darling is Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter Celia Woodsmith of bluegrass band Della Mae and guitarist Chris Hersch of the alt-country-rock band Girls Guns & Glory.
ENOSBURG--The Opera House at Enosburg Falls will be rocking and rolling with performances by Mark Shelton as Elvis, George Richard as Johnny Cash, and the Johnny Cash Tribute Band on Saturday at 7 p.m. The concert benefits the Friends of the Opera House.
Summer Sounds favorite and "Captain Radical," Mark Shelton is a World Class Elvis with a big, big voice. He sang the National Anthem at Fenway Park. He was at the Hard Rock Boston last month and plays the Flynn in October.
Mr. Richard as the Man in Black leads Vermont's only Johnny Cash Tribute Show. The band members share a great passion for the soulful, iconic music of Johnny Cash, June Carter Cash, and the Tennessee Three. The sextet is Marie "June" Ragan, vocalist; Shawn "Luther" Emery, lead guitar; Marty "Marshall" Morrissey, rhythm guitar and vocals; Wayne "W.S." Wanser, drums; and Donny Ray "Hank" Quenneville, bass guitar and vocals. They relive the Cash sound and keep the sound alive.

NORTH HERO--Back to the Islands by popular demand, Island Arts presents an evening of music with Jorge Garcia Herranz in the North Hero Community Hall on Saturday at 8 p.m.
This summer's performance features selections from Beethoven and Schubert. Spanish born, Sr. Herranz began his musical studies in Madrid and eventually moved to Paris to continue his career and has set his music to some of the greatest silent movies ever produced such as Metropolis. Noeferatu, and Faust. He summers in Vermont.

Monday
ST. ALBANS--The Burrow at the Catalyst Coffee Bar presents Full Walrus with Plastique Mammals and Brayden Baird on Monday at 8 p.m. The ambient art-rock group mixes soothing rhythm and bass alongside synth, guitar, and vocal melodies. The Mammals are all about that synth jam-band sound. Mr. Baird performs original mixed-genre works.
Admission is by $5 suggested donation. It is a sober event; food and drinks are available upstairs.
Wednesday
ST. ALBANS--Still Kickin' continues the Downtown Summer Concert Series in the E.A. Loomis Bandshell in Taylor Park on Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. 14th Star Brewing and the Traveling Canteen serve food and drink at all of this year's Summer Concert Series events.
Admission is free.
MORRISVILLE--Oxbow Riverfront Park continues the Wednesday Night Live music series with Lesley Grant on Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. There will be a special performance by the Lamoille Dance Academy at 6:30 p.m.
The series continues each week through August 23. The Wednesday farmers market won't be held at the Oxbow this summer, but there will be a rotating mix of food vendors every week and the River Arts' Art Tent will offer fun, creative activities for the community while the music plays.
ON THE AIR--Big Heavy World's Rocket Shop features the Missisquoi River Band live on 105.9FM "The Radiator" on Wednesday from 8 - 9 p.m.
Rocket Shop airs as an original local music radio hour hosted by Tom Proctor every Wednesday night. The show features Vermont artists from across the state, performing live in every genre and sharing their unique personalities and inspirations. Listen on the radio, from the web site or subscribe to the podcast on iTunes or on Android.
