Friday ST. ALBANS--14th Star Brewing brings GypsyWind to the stage for a pre-Mothers Day celebration on Friday at 6 p.m.

The name Gypsy Wind defines their eclectic repertoire of freshly interpreted covers and classy originals spanning several decades and genres.

Saturday
ESSEX JUNCTION--Justice Invades Whitcomb's Barn on Saturday at 6 p.m.
The guys -- Gary Greeno, Scott Belisle, Mike Stella and Rod Bushey -- kick off the barn party season early again with a mix of 70s, 80s 90s and today's dance rock. The Barn is a BYOB 21+ event.
Admission is $20 per person. Call 802.899.2417 for tickets.

SOUTH BURLINGTON--Higher Ground presents Summer Sounds favorites 8084, "In Memory of Angels," in the Ballroom on Saturday at 8 p.m. Doors open at 7:30 p.m.
Their new single, When Angels Slip Away, is available on iTunes and CDBaby. All sales will be donated to the American Cancer Society in the name of their friend Jennifer Foxx.
The originals are together on stage with lead singer Randy Smith, Grammy nominated guitarist-producer Andre Maquera, bassist and singer Frank Barnes, and drummer and singer Gary Spaulding. The energetic, charismatic and dedicated rockers have excited us for over 30 years and yet Andre can still get air. They've shared the stage with Aldo Nova, Toto, April Wine, Warrant, Edgar Winter, Blue Oyster Cult, Henry Lee Summer, and more as they toured the US and eastern Canada. They have released five original albums.

FRANKLIN COUNTY BOOKSHELF

ENOSBURG--The Enosburgh Public Library presents Jack Mayer to discuss Weimar Germany and the Rise of the Third Reich this evening at 6:30 p.m.
Defeated, humiliated, and in chaos, Germany after World War I was imperiled by leftist revolution and right-wing violence. Mr. Mayer recounts the story of Ernst Werner Techow, a member of the para-military Free Corps and the murderous Organization C, who was recruited into a clandestine assassination network trying to bring down the fledgling Weimar democracy. Mr. Techow participated in the 1922 murder of Foreign Minister Walther Rathenau, the highest-ranking Jew in the Weimar Republic. An offer of forgiveness while he was on trial for his life set him on a complex journey of redemption.
Call organizer Brenda Stanley (802.933.2328) for more info.
