MADE IN AMERICA

AROUND THE STATE--All our Vermont artists produce works that are "Made in Vermont" and "Made in America."
      The Made in Vermont website has shown the work of Vermont's artists, artisans, and craftspeople to more than 65,000 visitors. They exhibit work in every discipline and it all makes good Christmas presents. click here for more info.


ST. ALBANS--The Village Frame Shoppe has the sale of the year on 16x20 photo-to-canvas prints now through Saturday. All canvases are hand stretched and ready to hang. Click here and use the coupon code CHRISTMAS35 during checkout to order online or stop by the store to order in person.

ART ON THE WALLS

ST. ALBANS--The Artist in Residence Gallery will be open until 9 p.m. every Tuesday-Saturday until Christmas Eve.
      The Artist in Residence art cooperative features paintings, fiber arts, stained glass, sculpture, lamps, pottery, folk art boxes, scarves, hats and more by 40 Franklin County and surrounding area artists. It is owned and operated by the artists and sponsors. The gallery at 10 South Main Street is open Tuesday-Saturday, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Click here for more info.

SOUTH HERO--The Blue Paddle Bistro presents Carol Ann Jones in a solo show tonight at 6:30 p.m.
      The Blue Paddle has limited seating and a small bar so call ahead (802.372.4814) to assure a seat.


JERICHO--the bi-monthly Irish Session at Jericho Cafe and Tavern takes place this evening at 7 p.m.

ESSEX JUNCTION--On Tap offers Summer Sounds favorite Jenni Johnson tonight at 7 p.m. and St. Albans' own Nightrain tomorrow at 9 p.m.

HANOVER--Revels North presents the Christmas Revels: A French Canadian Celebration at Dartmouth's Hopkins Center for the Arts all day today and on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
      This presentation of the classic story of The Flying Canoe has a group of lonely voyageurs working in the northern timberland who go to extraordinary -- even devilish -- lengths to meet their far away sweethearts on New Year’s Eve.

MONTGOMERY CENTER--Big Jay Tavern presents The Stragglers Live on Friday at 8:30 p.m.
      "We'll serve up hot roots, bluegrass, vintage country, Americana, and classic rock with our own spin," Eric Bushey said, "and the mighty Justin Bedell will join us on upright bass." Stuart Kessler promises to join them from his place in L.A.


ESSEX JUNCTION--Get some Backstage Justice as the Pub and Restaurant hosts the band's final stop on the 2016 Raise A Little Hell Tour on Saturday at 9:30 p.m.
      After seven years of "Justifying" the Vermont and New York clubs, Scott Guptill will hang up his Les Paul tonight. "Let's send him off Justice style," the band says.

ST. ALBANS--Twiggs presents folk singer-songwriter Dave Richardson on $4 Friday and the heartfelt vocals of Sean Casey on Saturday. Shows begin at 7 p.m.

BURLINGTON--Young Tradition Vermont continues the Baird 5 Pediatric Music Session with the Instrument Petting Zoo on Monday at 6:30p.m. The sessions are for Baird 5 patients, families and staff only. Although it is not an otherwise public event, it's worthy of note. Click here for more info.


CREATIVE ECONOMY

LEAD A WORKSHOP AT CCX 2017 (December 16)--The Creative Communities Exchange is a chance to share your creative economy or creative placemaking project and create the content for this unique peer-to-peer exchange. They want projects such as renovating a neglected space for creative use, launching a downtown event or wayfinding project, completing an arts assessment or cultural plan, connecting artists to new businesses and opportunities, and more. www.nefa.org/events/creative-communities-exchange-1 for the workshop guidelines and to apply.
