I'll be "off the grid" for my road trip for the next few weeks. ArtBits will continue but in a much abbreviated form. We'll continue to have the news and any events that arrive in our inbox before deadline.
Check the Art Sites of the Week below to find links to the right stuff.

CAPERING AROUND

ST. ALBANS--Cardiac Capers opened with bargain night last night in the BFA Performing Arts Center and continues its run with four performances over four nights, tonight through Saturday, at 7:30 p.m. each night.
Written, produced, directed, and performed entirely by local talent, Cardiac Capers is the biennial hospital auxiliary fund-raising variety show with singing, dancing, and other performances by about 70 docs, medical staff, and community volunteers.
The great raffle will continue, reminding us this is a fun raiser for the NMC Auxiliary. Raffle tickets will be sold at the show. Volunteers will also sell Roses for a Star as a fund-raiser.
Patron tickets cost $20 each and may still be available. This special entitles you to a seat in one of the front rows where you (probably) will not get wet. Admission is $12. Tickets are available now at the hospital as well as at Food City, Georgia Market, Hannafords in St. Albans and Swanton, Steeple Market, and the St. Albans Free Library.
Tickets go well. The cast suggests you get them ahead of the show. Click here for more info.

IN The DARK

WESTFORD--Fairfax Community Theater Co. presents "A Shot in the Dark" in a three day run at the Brick Meeting House starting this evening and continuing through Saturday at 7:30 p.m. with a special matinee on Saturday at 2:30 p.m.
A young girl is presumed guilty of murder. The inexperienced Magistrate given the case to close comes to believe differently. What follows is a smart, funny, and twisty road to the truth. A journey that could very well cost the Magistrate his job and his marriage.
The cast includes Michael Smith as Paul Sivigne, Siera Schultz as Josefa Lantenay, Bob Martin as Morestan, Pam Dewey as Antoinette Sivigne, Mark Houle as Leblache, Walter Mahany as Benjamin Beaurevers, Carol Wheel-Mahany as Dominique Beaurevers, and Nancy Benoit as the Guard. Producer Kim Ward and Artistic Director Peter Harrington head up the production team.
Admission is $12 for adults, $10 for senior citizens and students under 13.
Call 802.324.5421 or click here for more info.

ON STAGE LIVE

Thursday SOUTH HERO--The Blue Paddle Bistro presents Carol Ann Jones in a solo show tonight at 6:30 p.m.
The Blue Paddle has limited seating and a small bar so call ahead (802.372.4814) to assure a seat.

SHELDON--The Ceilidh Barn hosts a house Concert with Scottish folk maestros Alan Reid and Rob van Sante this evening at 7 p.m. The concert will likely move to the house where there is a baby grand piano for Mr. Reid to play.
Admission is by suggested donation of $20. Click here for more info.

Monday
ST. Albans--Northwest Access TV (Channel 15) presents the Northwest Nightmares Haunted Hollywood Premiere & Costume Contest at the Welden Theater on Monday at 6:30 p.m.
All films will premier on the big screen followed by an awards presentation. Dress up in your best Haunted Hollywood attire and have your photo taken on the blood red carpet. The costume competition is open to all in attendance!
Tickets are $8 each and can be bought in advance at Northwest Access TV or at the Welden.

DRESS UP YOUR BLUES

ST. ALBANS--The eighth annual Blue Jean Ball for Home Health will be held at the American Legion on Saturday evening, beginning at 6 p.m.
The ball is Franklin County Home Health's signature fundraising event. Community support makes it possible for Home Health to bring the best home health care and hospice to people in need.
The evening of casually elegant fun means dressing up in denim to celebrate Fiesta! There is a silent auction and a live auction with Mark Waterhouse. Santini Catering will provide dinner and dessert and there will be dancing with DJ Bobby Cee.
View the quilt raffle and purchase raffle tickets online at
Admission is $50 per person. Tables seat 8. Call 802.527.7531 or click here to reserve yours.
