BIG MUSIC WEEKS

FRANKLIN COUNTY--The Big Music Weeks of Summer continue today as some of our friends play multiple gigs. Summer Sounds continues 26 years of concerts in Highgate with a rising star singer-songwriter and we find shows in East Fairfield, Enosburg Falls, North Hero, Sheldon, St. Albans, South Hero, and more.

LAUGHING and SINGING UP HIGHGATE

Drummac Septic Service, the All Arts Council, and the Town of Highgate continue the 26th year of Summer Sounds concerts at home in Highgate with the Troy Millette Band with Dylan Gombas in the free Summer Sounds concert on Sunday evening at 7 p.m.
"We'll definitely do a bunch of originals," Mr. Millette said. He is currently in the studio working on his debut album.
Mr. Millette is an up-and-coming singer/songwriter from Fairfax. His repertoire includes his "vast catalogue of original material" plus a strong suite of contemporary and retro cover tunes. Over the past year, he has played over 100 shows in Vermont and upstate New York, solo, with his band, and with national touring acts such as Atlantic Records recording artists Oh Honey, Noah Guthrie of the television series Glee, and country music star Jamie Lee Thurston. He got his start in Summer Sounds with Keeghan Nolan's Young Guns Tour.
Peacham's Mr. Gombas is the reigning champion of the Cracker Barrel Bazaar Fiddle Contest. His career began with the Vermont Symphony Youth Orchestra, and has morphed into more contemporary work. Gombas is currently working towards a Bachelor's Degree in Music Studies at St. Michael's College.
Just before the concert, stop by for the MVU School Trip Committee-Summer Sounds Social in the Park starting at 6 p.m. The social hour is a chance to visit with friends and eat some delicious desserts.
The Summer Sounds concerts are sponsored by the Town of Highgate and the All Arts Council, and underwritten by Chevalier Drilling Co. Inc, Desorcie's Market, Drummac Septic Service, La Quinta Inn and Suites of St Albans, O. C. McCuin and Sons, and Ray's Extrusion Dies and Tubing.
The community based All Arts Council brings the performing arts to northwestern Vermont. The concerts are always on Sunday evenings, always at 7 p.m., always in Highgate Municipal Park, and always free. Bring a blanket or a lawn chair for the outdoor family music and festivities. The rain site is the Highgate United Methodist Church. Click here for the schedule.
