MONTGOMERY--The second annual Holiday Craft Show takes place in the Montgomery Elementary School on Saturday from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. ART ON THE WALLS
With about 30 include crafters, artists, and specialty food producers, the offerings include hand-made jewelry; knitted, felted and crocheted items; batik clothing; flower arrangements; handcrafted soaps; pottery; aprons and pot holders; quilted crafts; infinity scarves; doll clothes; Christmas wreaths, kissing balls and trees; candles; bath and body products; wood burned signs; chainsaw carved sculptures; jams, jellies, pickles, maple products, homemade candies, baked goods, and honey. Breakfast and lunch will be available. Admission is free.
"We had a great show last year and are looking for an even better one this year," said organizer Sue Wilson.

ST ALBANS--The Northwestern Medical Center Gallery hosts Louise Cuonos in a solo show this month. Ms. Cuonos is exhibiting portraits, still life, floral and landscape paintings in acrylic and pastel. She paints mostly people and animals with acrylics, pastel pencil, and charcoal in her home studio in St. Albans. She attended Moore Institute of Art in Philadelphia has taken classes with the late Frances Colburn at UVM and Stan Mark Wright of Stowe.

ENOSBURG--Art teacher and Artist in Residence member Becky Wright will conduct a needle felting workshop at the A.I.R. Gallery on Saturday at 1 p.m. IN THE AIR
Learn to make needle-felted Christmas ornaments; all materials will be provided. The cost is $10 per person.
Call 802.933.6403 or visit the gallery to reserve a spot. The art cooperative, owned and operated by the artists and sponsors, is open Wednesday-Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. plus the first Sunday of each month, noon to 5 p.m.
SWANTON--The Swanton Arts Council will host a membership meet and greet at the Swanton Village Complex this evening from 6 - 8 p.m. IN THE SAC
They hope not only to "put a face to our 92 members and our 460 Facebook followers" but also to meet new friends and arts supporters. Light appetizers will be served.

ST. ALBANS--The St. Albans Historical Society & Museum continues an annual traditions with the Carol Ann Jones holiday concert and sing-along in the Bliss Room on Saturday at 7 p.m.
Ms. Jones will celebrate the spirit of the season with classic carols and contemporary favorites accompanied by her full quartet, Will Patton, Gary Spaulding and Dono Schabner. The program of traditional and new holiday tunes, along with some of her own songs, will ring in the holidays with beautiful music that you can sing and dance to.
There will be a cash bar and desserts.
Admission is $15. Half the proceeds the Museum. Tickets are available at the Museum office (802.527.7933), stamuseum.org, or at the door.
ESSEX JUNCTION--On Tap has Summer Sounds favorites Inca Hoots at 9 p.m.
The five-piece country-rock-jazz-pop band Inca Hoots plays "music for all occasions" and has wowed the Franklin County crowds this year. John Geno leads the Plattsburgh, NY group with Peter Grosskopf, Neil Wright, David Long, and John Seiden.

ST. ALBANS--Books from area writers make wonderful Christmas presents. Buy local to encourage our local authors and to give the gift of reading. We'll see three visits by the home team this week. FRANKLIN COUNTY BOOKSHELF
The Eloquent Page will host two book signings this weekend. Debra A. Adams will sign Little Ducky Do - Can Little Ducky Tie His Shoes on Saturday from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Ilamae Lund will "muse and sign" Holy Cows on Sunday also from 11 a.m.-2 p.m.
The St. Albans Free library will host a Local Author Talk with Ms. Lund on Saturday at 1 p.m.
Sisters and co-authors Justina W. T. Fink and Ms. Adams are creative moms. Little Ducky Do is their picture book about perseverance and self-confidence for children 2-7. This first book will soon be followed by more of Ducky's adventures.
Holy Cows is the story of Ms. Lund's Christmas as a child on an Iowa farm in the 1930s.
"Ilamae Lund called me and asked 'Do you illustrate books?'" Fairfax artist and A.I.R. member Harald Aksdal wrote. No, he doesn't. He doesn't do commissions, either. And yet. And yet they both speak Norwegian.
Mr. Aksdal illustrated Holy Cow with 15 plates.

AROUND THE COUNTY--Santa and the Bookmobile will be making appearances at local libraries this weekend. Call your librarian for a sighting.
ENOSBURG--Friday is busy at the Enosburg Public Library with a tree trimming party (make your own decoration to contribute to the Library's Christmas tree) on Friday at 5-8 p.m. Then, at 6-8 p.m., get cozy and curl up for the Family Christmas Movie Night.
The Reading Discussion group meets at the library on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. for Anthony Dooer's All the Light We Cannot See.
HIGHGATE--The Highgate Public Library is collecting used children's picture books until December 17. These will travel to Haiti with a Vermont woman to be given to children living in orphanages.

ST. ALBANS--The St. Albans Free Library opens its doors for the Holiday Open House this evening from 5:30-7:30 p.m. The library tradition is fun for the whole family with crafts and snacks, sleigh rides and Santa. And it's free.
The Classic Readers Book Group meets at the library on Tuesday at 6:45 p.m. for Mother Night, by Kurt Vonnegut.
New members are always welcome to this group that reads the classics. A limited number of books is available at the circulation desk downstairs.
