The new Swanton Arts Council has momentum going into the Summer season. LOCAL ARTS COUNCIL NEWS
Their Pinwheel Art Installation opened the Farmers' Market in partnership with the Swanton Free Public Library and Swanton Chamber of Commerce. This will be an annual event. The Maple City Candy mural was completed June 14. Scott Rheaume was the lead artist with Anita Parah, Joanne Reiter, Faith Dubois, David Winchester, Katie Foster, Marie and Neal Speer, Judy and Alexandra Paxman. The Barn Quilt Challenge concludes with an event on Tuesday, June 30. There will be a Sidewalk Chalk Day in July and an Art Journaling Class led by Meta Strick in August.
SAC was formed in February to establish an artistic presence and develop the artistic community in Swanton. Click here for more info.

Thursday ON STAGE LIVE
ST. ALBANS--The One Fed Summer Concert Series presents the Nobby Reed Project this evening at 7 p.m.
Vermont's own blues trio includes Eric Belrose, percussion, Ray Bushey, bass, and Mr. Reed on lead guitar and vocals.
The summer concert series has performers under the tents every Thursday, rain or shine.
Friday
ST. ALBANS--The Downtown Summer Concert Series presents the honky-tonk Starline Rhythm Boys in the E.A. Loomis Bandshell in Taylor Park on Friday at 5:30 p.m.
The Boys are Danny Coane who writes and sings, picks banjo and guitar; Billy Bratcher, upright "slap" bass; and Al Lemery, Fender "widow maker."
The concert is free. Food and drink will be available.
EAST FAIRFIELD--Summer Evenings with Vermont Treasures presents a concert with Mary McGinniss & The Selkies at the Meeting House on the Green on Friday at 7 p.m. It will be an evening of country and jazz, with a dash of Klezmer.
Ms. McGinniss is a native Vermonter who has written, performed, and recorded her music since the 1970s. She will perform with Gus Ziesing on saxophones and clarinet, and perhaps Cajun accordion; percussionist Steve Wienert; and jazz singer Juliet McVicker. The quartet will perform her original music as well as iconic songs by Leonard Cohen, Michael Hurley, Lucinda Williams, and more.
Her recent CD, Borderlands, contains local stories, local themes, local musicians, and poetic local songwriting in a range of genres.
Come early for legendary wood-fired pizza at the outdoor oven next door at the Community Center at 5 p.m.

ENOSBURG--The week of all things theater -- Summer Theater Camp at the Opera House -- culminates in a performance of Waking Sleeping Beauty on Friday at 7 p.m. This fresh and funny adaptation of the classic fairy tale is staged for the whole family.
Young actors have spent this week immersed in theater. The Summer Theater Camp for students aged 6-14 was directed by Em Frappier.
Admission is $5 for adults and $3 for those under age 12.
MIDDLEBURY--The Lincoln Peak Vineyard Wine Down Friday Concert series presents the Will Patton Ensemble on Friday at 6 p.m.
These quartet of the very busy Mr. Patton, David Gusakov, Clyde Stats and Dono Schabner play a diverse and spirited range of world music and jazz drawn from Gypsy jazz and Brazilian choro.
Admission is free. Food for sale by Almost Home, and wine by the glass. Bring lawn chairs or a picnic blanket. The series happens rain or shine; there’s room on the winery porch in the case of rain.
Saturday
ST. ALBANS--The St. Albans Historical Museum showcases its Travel Channel debut with a screening of the episode that featured the St. Albans Raid in the Bliss Room on Saturday at 2pm. There will be a presentation by Vermont author Michelle Arnosky Sherburne.

The St. Albans Historical Society is a Blue Star Museum proud to join more than 2,000 museums across America to offer free admission to the nation's active duty military personnel, including National Guard and Reserve and their families.
BURLINGTON--Vermont Swings hosts a Swing Dance with Lewis Franco and the Missing Cats featuring Will Patton at the Champlain Club on Saturday at 7:30 p.m.
Lewis Franco is a fixture on the Vermont acoustic music scene, with clever and occasionally profound lyrics, delightfully tuneful melodies, and a fun-loving presence.
Admission is $15 for all ages. There will be an East Coast Swing lesson from 7:30-8:00 p.m. included with admission to the dance. Click here for more info.
The group holds Saturday Swing Dances on the second and fourth Saturdays and a Friday Night Blues dance on the third Friday of each month.
Sunday
PUTNEY--The Twilight on the Tavern Lawn Concert Series presents the Will Patton Ensemble at the Putney Tavern on Sunday at 6p.m.
Admission is free but donations are welcome.
Wednesday
SWANTON--The Citizens Concert Band performs in the Swanton Village Park on Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. Under the direction of Kevin Loomis, the Band seats about 45 musicians in all ages from high school soloists to working professionals. Vocalist Claire Chevalier Hungerford studied at Crane School of Music and is renowned for her role in Counterpoint.

MORRISVILLE--Moog's Place has "live music every night we're open, starting between eight and nine pm" with open mic night scheduled most Thursdays at 8:30 p.m.

ALBANS--Twiggs presents Bob Young on guitar in the Window this evening at 7 p.m. Next up, Vern Colburn tickles the ivories in the Dining Room at 5:30 p.m. Then welcome Kyle Woolard, frontman of The Anatomy of Frank, in the Window also on Friday evening at 8 p.m. Isaac and Dominic French take over Saturday at 7 p.m.
Twiggs offers Music to Dine By with relaxed music and the arts. They have three stages with live piano, violin, or light guitar any day of the week in the dining room, the Window, or the main stage. The Cabaret offers live performances by musicians, visual artists, poets, and more. The regular Open Mic Night repeats next Wednesday and on the first Wednesday of every month.

ST. ALBANS--The Traveled Cup offers open-mic nights hosted by Jesse Potts for musicians as well as poets and other performers to share their talents every other Friday. The shop is open seven days a week from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m.

The Opera House at Enosburg Falls is again partnering with Dick Wright Ford for the Drive4UrCommunity "fun"draiser. For every car that is test driven by a household, the Opera House receives $100. It's a low pressure opportunity to test drive a Ford and help out the historic art center of Franklin County. DRIVE4URCOMMUNITY
