CAMPING THEATRICS

ENOSBURG--Summer Theater Camp at the Opera House opens next week, Monday through Friday. The summer camp for students aged 6-14 will produce Waking Sleeping Beauty and will again be directed by Em Frappier.
      Young actors will enjoy a week of theater fun ending with a public performance next Friday, June 26. There is still time to sign up. Call 802.933.6171.


ON STAGE LIVE

Thursday
ST. ALBANS--The One Fed Summer Concert Series presents Tyme's Up this evening at 7 p.m.
      Tim Campbell, keyboards, guitar, vocals; Brian Gratton, guitar, lead vocals; Pete Coutu, bass and vocals; and Tom Reardon, drums, sampling effects, vocals cover driving, classic rock from Harlequin, Journey, The Alan Parson's Project, Coldplay, Santana, The Rolling Stones, Tom Petty, Stevie Ray Vaughan, as well as today's hits.
      The summer concert series has performers under the tents every Thursday, rain or shine.


BURLINGTON--The Breakwater Cafe and Grill summer schedule has bands playing Wednesday through Sunday every week. The lineup this week features the Starline Rhythm Boys tonight starting at 6 p.m.

ESSEX JUNCTION--On Tap at the Lincoln Inn presents Summer Sounds favorite Jenni Johnson and Friends this evening at 7 p.m.

Friday
SHELDON--Summer Music at Grace continues with Chasing 440 at the Grace Church on Friday at 7:30 p.m. Come help fiddler Arnold Royea celebrate his birthday!
      The band chases great bluegrass with Amanda Benway, singer/songwriter and lead mandolin; David Benway, guitar and vocals; Mr. Royea, fiddle; Michael Ryan, banjo and vocals; and Larry Blackhurst on bass. Their sets will include 9 Pound Hammer," "30 Years of Farming, and That Bluegrass Music.
      There is no cookout or potluck this year.
      Admission is a $15 suggested donation at the door; there are no advance tickets.


ST. ALBANS--The Nobby Reed Project will kick off the Downtown Summer Concert Series in the E.A. Loomis Bandshell in Taylor Park on Friday at 5:30 p.m. Vermont's best known blues trio includes Eric Belrose, percussion, Ray Bushey, bass, and Mr. Reed on lead guitar and vocals.
      Concerts will be on most Friday evenings except July 3 plus an extra date this week.


Friday and Saturday
ST. ALBANS--Twiggs presents MacKenzie/Delaney/Slim on Friday at 7 p.m. and Dayve Huckett in the Dining Room on Saturday at 7 p.m.
      With Bob MacKenzie, harmonica and vocals; Walt Delaney, bass; and Missisquoi Slim, guitar; they blend music from Muddy Waters to T-Hip.

WORCESTER--The Carolan Festival hosts Fiddleheads at Mallery Farm on Saturday at 4 p.m. The group will play Bridget Cruise/Planxty Sweeney
      The gathering takes place Friday through Sunday on Mallery Farm and brings together people who play, listen, sing, or dance to the music of Irish harper and composer Turlough O'Carolan (1670-1738).

Sunday
MORRISVILLE--Celebrate Solstice at Moog's Place with an all day Father's Day BBQ and live music on two stages on Sunday from 12 noon on.
      Admission is by $10 donation. Proceeds will benefit United Way and Meals on Wheels. Click here for more info.


Wednesday
ST. ALBANS--The Citizens Concert Band continues the Downtown Summer Concert Series in the E.A. Loomis Bandshell in Taylor Park on Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. Under the direction of Kevin Loomis, the Band seats about 45 musicians in all ages from high school soloists to working professionals. Vocalist Claire Chevalier Hungerford studied at Crane School of Music and is renowned for her role in Counterpoint.

FRANKLIN COUNTY BOOKSHELF

FAIRFAX--The Fairfax Library holds a special Library on the Lawn on Friday 10:30-12 noon.
      Weather permitting they will set up a reading station on the lawn in front of the Middle School with boxes of books to choose from. Reading al fresco. Bring your own cappuccino.
      Tuesday is Bad Art Night at 6 p.m. The light hearted art making event is a chance to make the cheesiest art pieces with a prize for the absolute worst.


FAIRFIELD--The Friends of Bent Northrop Memorial Library will hold a Tip Top Tag Sale on June 27 and are now collecting nearly new items. Electronics and clothes will not be accepted.
      Bring donations to the library on Saturday, 9 a.m.-1 p.m.; and next week on Tuesday and Thursday 4-8 p.m. plus next Friday, 9 a.m.-noon.


FRANKLIN--The lively Haston Library Adult Book Discussion takes up Still Life with Breadcrumbs by best-selling author Ann Quindlen this evening at 6:30 p.m.
      Books are available at the library.


ST. ALBANS--It is a busy week at the St. Albans Free Library. Today brings Crafts and the Writers' Medley; next week will be a movie and a cookbook.
      The Writers' Medley gathers anyone interested in pursuing writing and sharing work with peers this afternoon at 2 p.m. Call Wanda (802.524.1507) for the prompt. Adult Craft Night will build a stone bird bath to decorate a home or garden this evening at 6:30 p.m. Registration is closed.
      Next Tuesday, in preparation for the upcoming Summer Reading Program and its theme, Heroes, the Movie Matinee digs in to Batman Unlimited: Animal Instincts at 2 p.m.
      Also on Tuesday a Stir the Pot Cookbook Discussion at 6:30 p.m. tackles the farmers' market. If you love cookbooks, cooking, and eating, and talking about cookbooks, cooking and eating, this is the group for you! Visit the Circ Desk to check out a copy of the selected book; choose a recipe and prepare it for the program.
