ENOSBURG FALLS--The Artist In Residence Gallery features different artists each month. This month, the co-op hosts the second annual Artist's Choice reception on Sunday from 1-3 p.m. Refreshments will be served. ART ON THE WALLS
"Last year, members shared a work in progress, or new work, or just something they were excited about and wanted to share. It was a fun gathering, and members got to share, talk art, and visit in a more relaxed atmosphere than our usual, [more] formal receptions," said membership coordinator JoAnne Wazny.
The Artist in Residence art cooperative features paintings, fiber arts, stained glass, sculpture, lamps, pottery, folk art boxes, scarves, hats and more by 45 Franklin County and surrounding area artists. It is owned and operated by the artists and sponsors. The gallery, located at 321 Main Street, is open Wednesday-Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. plus the first Sunday of each month, noon to 5 p.m.
ST ALBANS--Correction: I got an artist's name wrong last week in the section about the Northwestern Medical Center Gallery. Millie Boyd is exhibiting "The Eyes Have It," a series of watercolor paintings, in the NMC gallery this month.
The show continues through the end of April.
TODAY ON STAGE LIVE
SHELDON--The Abbey's Karaoke singing competition finale got moved a week so it comes tonight at 10 p.m. Weekly winners picked up $50 Abbey bucks; there is a $1,000 cash prize this evening.

FRIDAY
ST. ALBANS--The Twiggs stages are busy this weekend, starting with the duo Feeling Groovy in the Back Room on Friday evening at 6:30 p.m. Georgia's Greg Martell, keys and vocals, and guitarist and vocalist Ian Robertson, guitar and vocals, play and harmonize the songs of the sixties and seventies. The Beatles, Simon and Garfunkel, the Hollies, Stones, Donovan and other classic artists.
Next up, Twiggs presents Dollar Past Sunset playing free form improv and deeply rooted folk-rock music on Saturday at 6:30 p.m.

COVENTRY, VT--Parker Pie Wings presents the Nobby Reed Project on Friday at 8 p.m. The restaurant is located on the Newport State Airport where they offer live music most Wednesday and Friday nights.
Admission is by $5 cover, at the door.
SATURDAY
ST. ALBANS--The Nobby Reed Project is busy this weekend as 14th Star Brewery presents Vermont's favorite blues band on Saturday at 7 p.m. as part of a release party for the 11 Bravo cans which raise awareness for PTSD.
The trio includes Eric Belrose, percussion, Ray Bushey, bass, and Mr. Reed on lead guitar and vocals.
Josh Pallotta of Colchester joined the Vermont Army National Guard and served in 11 Bravo Company in Afghanistan. In September, 2014, Mr. Pallotta succumbed to his ongoing battle with Post Traumatic Stress and Traumatic Brain Injuries sustained while serving his country.
Admission is free. All proceeds from the 11 Bravo cans will benefit the Josh Pallotta Fund. Call 802.528.5988 for more info.
ST. JOHNSBURY--The Catamount Arts Bluegrass Jam features the Missisquoi River Band playing bluegrass inspired originals with special guests Will Patton, Bill Gaston, and Neil Rossi in the Cabaret on Saturday at 7 p.m.
The extra large Missisquoi River Band trio is normally Cindy and Jim Weed and Pat Murphy and is well known for original and traditional bluegrass. String wizard Patton will bring his mandolin and National Steel tenor guitar; Mr. Rossi, fiddle; Mr. Gaston; banjo and dobro. Mr. Weed plays lead guitar; Mr. Murphy, rhythm guitar; and Cindy Weed keeps it going with bass fiddle.
The Jams feature music the whole family can enjoy. The evening is free and open to the public. Click here for more info.
ST. ALBANS--Justice returns for a Spring Fling at Club Karib on Saturday evening at 9:30 p.m. With Gary Greeno, lead vocals; Scott Belisle on bass and backup vocals; Rod Bushey, lead guitar; Mike Stella, drums; and Scott Guptill, rhythm guitar and backup vocals; Justice will party until the sand heats up.
"It's our only show in the month of April," Mr. Guptill said, and their last appearance in Franklin County until fall.
The early registration deadline for the Creative Communities Exchange (CCX) is Wednesday, April 15. Busy day. CREATIVE ECONOMY
CCX will have workshops about arts and transportation planning, festivals as business development, and more; networking; large group sessions to discuss how to evaluate your creative economy project with foundation and government funders; National Endowment for the Arts chair Jane Chu; and more.

FAIRFAX--The Fairfax Community Library needs a 25 hour per week student library assistant for the summer. They will accept applications until Tuesday. The position runs from approximately June 12 through August 24. The pay is Vermont minimum wage ($9.15/hour). FRANKLIN COUNTY BOOKSHELF

Today is Fiction Book Group to discuss a Geraldine Brooks novel at 6:30 p.m. Copies of People of the Book are available now at the library.
Saturday offers a Fiber Arts Maker Space from 10-12 p.m. The open time offers time to sit and knit, crochet, felt, rug hook, or whatever inspires you.
HIGHGATE--Cailey's Closet Prom Dress Event and Social will be held at the Highgate Public Library on Saturday from 11:30-2:30 p.m.
ST. ALBANS--It's Classic Movie Night at the St. Albans Free Library tonight at 6 p.m. with Field of Dreams as the feature. Films are shown on the 4' by 6' screen in the upstairs conference room cinema. Admission is free, along with popcorn and beverage.
The library hosts Blogging Boot Camp with Carrie Smith and J.P Choquette on Saturday at 1 p.m. Financial blogger and successful freelance writer Carrie Smith owns Careful Cents where she writes about creative finances for freelancers. Local author and freelance writer J.P Choquette has blogged since 2006.
The Tuesday Night Book Group meets on Tuesday at 7 p.m. to discus 100 Best Loved Poems by Philip Smith. A limited number of books available at the circulation desk. New members are always welcome.
