ARTS IN EAST FAIRFIELD
The Fairfield Community Center has a busy week planned.
The FCCA Annual Public Meeting takes place this evening at 7 p.m. Refreshments will be served.
Saturday Night at the Movies features "great flicks from selected Vermont filmmakers." This Saturday will have two films from the Vermont Folklife Center at 7 p.m.
On My Own: The Traditions of Daisy Turner and the Abenaki of Vermont: A Living Culture introduce Daisy Turner, at the age of 103, recalling her childhood in Grafton and the stories her parents told her about life during the Civil War era.

The After Lunch Mini-Concert has a sing-along-laugh-a-lot with Sergio Torres on guitar and vocals on Tuesday at about 1 p.m.
ST. ALBANS--Good music and great food make a flawless Friday. The second annual In Good Taste Festival takes over St. Albans City Hall tomorrow at 4-6 and again at 6:30-8:30 p.m. There will be live music by the Missisquoi River Band and specially crafted menu items, prepared with products from Franklin and Grand Isle farms. The Missisquoi River Band includes Cindy Weed, stand up bass; Jim Weed, lead and rhythm guitar; and artist Pat Murphy, guitar.
Restaurants include the 84 Main Grille, Twiggs, Jeff's, and One Federal, plus Local Fare; there will be handcrafted beer, wine, and unique spirits.
Admission requires tasting tickets. A book of 20 in advance will cost $10 per person, while supplies last. Tickets at the door are 20 for $15. The two tastings are limited to 250 people each. Tickets are available at ingoodtastevt.com . Online sales will close today.
ST. ALBANS--Twiggs presents the Bluerock Boys tomorrow evening at 7 p.m. The late nineties "power duo" is Cliff Crosby on acoustic guitar and vocals and Eric Bushey on electric guitar, tenor banjo, and vocals. They play their own instrumental arrangements and creative improv and have tight vocal harmonies in classic rock to classic country.
Next up, the Twiggs Comedy For A Cause series continues on the Main Stage Saturday evening at 7 p.m. The evening will raise money to support competition travel for the Electric Youth Dance Company of St. Albans. Admission to Comedy is $20. Call Patty Laroe (802.363.8041) for tickets. There are just 75 seats available at the restaurant. Make dinner reservations prior to the show since only drinks, appetizers, and desserts will be served during the show.
Bob Young also takes to the Window on Saturday at 7 p.m. with his favorites from The Band, Eric Clapton, Dire Straits, Tom Petty, Mumford and Sons, the Lumineers, and more.

HINESBURG--Champlain Valley Union High School presents Local Legends, an Evening of Acoustic Music on Friday at 7 p.m.
Featuring Nate Gusakov and Robinson Morse, Fadhili with Niel Maurer, and Jamie Masefield with Doug Perkins, Tyler Bolles, and Jon Fishman on drums, the concert will benefit Responsible Growth Hinesburg.

FAIRFAX--Today is R.E.A.D. to a Dog day at Fairfax Community Library at 3:15 p.m. Kids ages 5-10 can read a book of their choice to a fuzzy, friend. Each slot is 15 minutes. FRANKLIN COUNTY BOOKSHELF
This evening, Corey from suncommon.org will hold a workshop about solar home heating at 6:30 p.m.
HIGHGATE--The Highgate Public Library Young Rembrandts drawing class meets Fridays at 3:30 p.m. Students develop drawing techniques and artistic skills using color pencils, markers, and Sharpies. Space is limited. Call the library to enroll.

MONTGOMERY--The Montgomery Town Library continues Freedom & Unity: One State--Many Visions every other Sunday at 2 p.m. The film screening and discussion series looks at our state with a six-part series of films. Part 2, this Sunday, explores Under the Surface with a discussion of the labor wars, McCarthy era and progressive Republicanism led by Jill Mudgett.

ST. ALBANS--The St. Albans Free Library has the Writers' Medley for those interested in pursuing writing and sharing work with peers this afternoon at 2 p.m. Then Conversational Math is a math class with no home work or tests, this evening at 6:30 p.m.
The Kids' Saturday Movie Matinee brings the newly released family movie The Boxtrolls to the screen at 1 p.m. Films are shown on the 4' by 6' screen in the upstairs conference room cinema. Admission is free, along with popcorn and beverage.

Bryce Dance Company is a big, inter-generational performance company in Montpelier. Heather Bryce and Kayla West create collaborative, community engaged work that reflects the stories of place. Bryce frequently invites elders, children, and individuals without formal dance training into the creation of new work specifically to reflect their experiences and to open dialogue.
