Music and Dance of 1864
In a time without iTunes or television or radio or telephones, song and live theater and dance were the entertainment of the Civil War. Music kept morale up both at home and in the campgrounds.

Admission to the Mayor's Ball is $25 per person. Period or formal attire is required.
The 2nd South Carolina String Band was formed in 1989 by five musician riflemen of the Volunteer Infantry. These Civil War re-enactors play 19th century period banjo, guitar, fiddle, tambourines, bones, and military drum. The band has been featured in USA Today, People Magazine, and U.S. News & World Report. They performed in the movie Gods and Generals and Ken Burns featured them on Jazz and Mark Twain. They have six albums available at CDBaby.comand Amazon.com or as MP3 downloads at Buy.com and 25 other distributors. Click here for more info about the band.
