FRANKLIN COUNTY--The All Arts Council Summer Sounds concert series begins Sunday, July 6, with Jamie Lee Thurston at Bay Day. The 24th season of this popular series features Rick Davis, Tammy Fletcher, H.I.S., Jenni Johnson, Towne Meeting, and more. SUMMER SOUNDS
The Summer Sounds concerts are sponsored by the Town of St. Albans and the All Arts Council, and underwritten by Bud Light, Chevalier Drilling, Desorcie's Market, Drummac Septic Service, Mylan Technologies, O. C. McCuin & Sons, Ray's Extrusion Dies & Tubing and WOKO.
The concerts are always on Sunday evenings at 7 p.m., always in a town park, and always free. Click here for the schedule.
SHELBURNE--Furchgott Sourdiffe Gallery features Fairfield artist Gail Salzman in their annual summer show with an opening reception on Saturday, 5-7 p.m. ART ON THE WALLS
Ms. Salzman will "have a few pieces in show," as will Barbara Wager and 16 other fine artists from the area. One of New England's great colorists, Ms. Salzman is known for her translucent layers and the looping lines that reflect her love of water.
The show continues through July. Gallery hours are 9:30-5:30 Tuesday through Friday and 10-5 on Saturday. Call 802.985.3848 or click here for more info.
BURLINGTON--The fifth annual Burlington Social Media Day takes flight with a Kick Off party at ArtsRiot this evening at 5:30. SELLING IT
All the SMM (Social Media Marketing) guides insist that everyone needs a social media presence. It helps reach and keep more customers. Your buyers already interacting with their favorite brands online, from this newspaper to a soft drink to the art museum in the next state. Having your own strong social media presence is key not only to tap their interest but also to avoid the "where are you" question. This newspaper uses a combination of a captivating website and an active Facebook page very effectively.
More of the "hits" on my own gallery and websites originate from a Facebook post than any other source.
Facebook, Foursquare, and Twitter experts will gather and host events and workshops at Burlington Social Media Day. It's an opportunity to network face to face and learn how to use the available tools.

SOUTH HERO--Snow Farm Vineyard presents Carol Ann Jones and the Superchargers in the weekly Summer Concert Series this evening at 6:30 p.m. Some of best musicians in Vermont back up the popular singer/songwriter. Andre Maquera, lead guitar; Gary Spaulding, drums; Will Patton, bass; and Thom Carvey, saxophone. ON STAGE LIVE
This live summer concert music series offers a variety of music from classical to jazz to swing to bluegrass to classic rock. All concerts are free.
"Bring your picnic!" Ms. Jones said. Wine and beer are available for purchase. Food is also available onsite from Island Beverage (hot dogs, hamburgers and french fries), and Pizza Papillo with crafted flat bread on concert nights.

ST. ALBANS--It's a busy weekend at Twiggs.
First up, St. Albans natives Isaac and Dominic French have a mixed style of blues, pop, hip hop and rap this evening at 6:30 p.m.
Dayve Huckett teaches how his guitar makes magic in the Dining Room tomorrow evening at 8:30 p.m. He has eight recordings to date and is working on his next project now.
The still special duo James and Jess take the stage Saturday at 6:30 p.m.
The Twiggs Comedy For A Cause series continues on the Main Stage Saturday evening at 7 p.m. The evening will raise money to Get a Van for Asher Man. Admission is $20. There are just 75 seats available at the restaurant. Call Patti Bourbeau (802.309.0344) for tickets. Make dinner reservations prior to the show since only drinks, appetizers, and desserts will be served during the show.
The Twiggs' open mic will be held in the window on Main Street on Wednesday at 7 p.m. in honor of Independence Day.
Twiggs offers Music to Dine By with relaxed music and the arts. They have three stages with live piano, violin, or light guitar any day of the week in the dining room, the Window, or the main stage. The Cabaret offers live performances by musicians, visual artists, poets, and more. The regular Open Mic Night repeats next Wednesday and on the first Wednesday of every month. EAST FAIRFIELD--The Community Center presents the Mark Strushacker at the Pizza and Music night on Friday at 5 p.m.
Admission is $7 per person or $20 per family. This first in a series of three events brings exceptional music and pizza cooked in the outdoor oven together to benefit the Food Shelf.
ST. ALBANS--The Downtown Summer Concert Series presents the Starline Rhythm Boys in the E.A. Loomis Bandshell in Taylor Park on Friday at 6 p.m. Jeff's Seafood will have a cash bar and food available.
Concerts will be on the second and fourth Fridays of July and August. Inca Hoots, Oleo Romeos, and others will perform this summer. Admission is free.
SOUTH BURLINGTON--Higher Ground presents Randy Smith and His Band of Merry Men featuring Jandee Lee Porter, Holly May, and Troy Millette of Fairfax on Friday, June 27 at 8 p.m.
Formerly the 8084 lead singer, Mr. Smith is a Billboard and International award winning musician. The singer-songwriter has recorded six albums and performed over 4,500 live shows across the US and Canada. He now lives in Charlotte, North Carolina.

ENOSBURG FALLS--The New Life Christian Church hosts its annual Concert on the Park, Lawn Sale, and chicken BBQ on Saturday.
The all day lawn sale is a sale by donation at Mark and Lori Shuren's home on North Main Street. Look for treasures and other fun starting at 9 a.m.
The Christian Music Concert on the Park on the Lincoln Park Bandstand features I Voice from Malone, NY, and Simple Blessings from Richford at 5:30 p.m. There will be a freewill love offering.
The BBQ on the lawn of the Masonic Hall includes chicken, chips, roll, coleslaw and a drink for $8 per person.

SOUTH BURLINGTON--Temple Sinai hosts the of music by singer/songwriter Meg Cossaboom in a unique benefit concert on Saturday at 7:30 p.m.
The event will feature performances by some of New England's finest singers and musicians. Special guest singers include A.J. Banach, Sarah Brooks, Margie Cain, Cindy Willey Callahan, Bruce Chalmer, Olivia Christie, Robin Toppi Donoghue, Peter Harrington, San Harrington, Kathleen Hoffman, Sierra Jewett, Lisa Ackel Judge, Emily Leute, Nathaniel Miller, Aaron Reil, Rebecca Reil, Rachael Sherman, Addie Southwick, Sally Turner, Kimberly Ward, and Heather Wilson. Special Guest Musicians are A.J. Banach, trumpet; Margie Cain, percussion; Aaron Doane, clarinet; Sally Howe, cello; Shane Lessor, keyboard; Laura Turner, trombone; Sam Willey, flute; and Luke Willey, bass. Soloists will be accompanied by a full band.
The fundraising event will benefit Temple Sinai and the Enosburg Opera House. Admission is $10 in advance or $15 at the door.

SWANTON--Don't lose your marbles. Rock some golf balls instead as Champlain Country Club brings Justice to the links and opens the clubhouse to the public on Saturday at 8:30 p.m. Scott Belisle on bass and backup vocals; Todd Dunn, lead and rhythm guitar; Gary Greeno, lead vocals; Mike Stella, drums; and Scott Guptill, rhythm guitar and backup vocals, will melt the fairway grass.
The cover charge is $8 for this over-21 show.
