June is National Dairy Month! MOO
The Enosburg Falls Lions club celebrates 58 years of Vermont Dairy Festivals this weekend with Supercharged entertainment and magical family activities. Most of the stage shows and entertainment are on the Lincoln Park Bandstand. All the outdoor entertainment is free.
The Dairy Festival begins today and continues through Sunday in downtown Enosburg Falls.
The Mooooving Parade starts Saturday at 10:30. With marching bands and mobile mooving murals, it is one of Vermont's largest parades.
All that milk includes some art. The Masonic Hall adjacent to the park hosts the Arts and Crafts show starting Saturday at 9 a.m.
THURSDAY--The Vermont Dairy Festival Scholarship Pageant Finals are held this evening at 7 p.m. in the Opera House at Enosburg Falls as college-bound seniors return for final judging. The competition tonight includes poise and appearance, stage interviews, and youth fitness.
The Enosburg Lions offer scholarship prizes ranging from $125 to $750.
Admission is $8. Tickets will be available at the door.
FRIDAY--Highgate's own country singer/songwriter Allana Freeman two-steps through the dairy exhibits to kick off the free entertainment. Friday, 6 p.m. On the Bandstand.
The Keegan Nolan Band anchors Friday night. The acoustic country singer-songwriter is touring festivals, county fairs, and concerts between Vermont, Nashville, and Florida. She has the powerful voice of Patsy Cline, a style of her own, and a backup band that makes the show: Phil Tomany, guitar; Thom Carvey, bass; Tracy Lord, guitar; and Gary Spaulding, drums. The Fairfield native now makes her home in Williston and in Florida. 7 p.m. on the Band Stand
SATURDAY--The Parade begins at 10:30.
Saturday's music gets off to a supercharged start with two sets from Georgia's Carol Ann Jones and The Superchargers. Some of best musicians in Vermont back up the popular singer/songwriter. Andre Maquera, lead guitar and backing vocals; Gary Spaulding, drums; Will Patton, bass, tenor, steel guitar and backing vocals; and Thom Carvey, bass, saxophone and backing vocals. Noon and 1:30 p.m. On the Bandstand.
Comedy Actress and Ventriloquist Sylvia Fletcher tours the world with the Magic Trunk, a well traveled box inhabited by a bunch of quick-witted puppets and inanimate objects who believe truly that a puppet can talk. 12:45, 4:30, and 6:30 p.m. On the Bandstand.
Todd Wellington, the King of Silly, is billed as "pound for pound, the finest entertainer in three states" from Red Sox games to NASCAR races. Look for juggling, unicycling, balloons, magic, and physical comedy. 2:15 p.m. On the Bandstand.
Marko the Magician specializes in both Magic and Hypnosis. 3 p.m. On the Bandstand.
Singer/songwriter Emily Butson has a continuous love affair with music. Music became her diary when she began to write her own. Her new album, Louder than Silence, is coming in August. 5:30 p.m. On the Bandstand.
The Northeast Fiddlers Association is dedicated to preserving and promoting old-time fiddling and its related arts and skills. 6:15 p.m. on the Green.
Singer songwriter, guitar player, and native Vermont country singer Tim Brick returns with Steven Quenneville, drums, Todd Wells, bass, and George Seymour, pedal steel and banjo. Mr. Brick has been on stage since he was 12. 7 p.m. into the fireworks on the bandstand.
The Fireworks will actually shoot over the mighty Missisquoi at 9:30 p.m.
SUNDAY--The Missisquoi River Band featuring Cindy and Jim Weed and Pat Murphy with special guests Will Patton and Bill Gaston kicks off a star studded Sunday at 10 and 11:45 a.m. On the Bandstand.
Dan Grady's Marvelous Marionette Medley has talented and fascinating characters strutting their stuff -- roller skating, tightrope walking, dancing, and more -- with original music at 11:00 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. On the Bandstand.
Nashville headliner Jamie Lee Thurston fills Sunday afternoon with music. He grew up immersed in Franklin County music. As a teenager he worked as a roadie for Jimmy T's band then joined the band as a guitar player. He paid his dues and made a name for himself in bars and clubs across the Northeast and Canada. He has opened for the Dixie Chicks, Sara Evans, and Charlie Daniels, then moved to Nashville. As a contract songwriter he has had songs recorded by Trace Adkins, Montgomery Gentry, and Rodney Atkins. Starting at 1 p.m. on the Bandstand.
The Cow Plop Contest which has greener grass starts around 5 p.m. On the street.

The men and women of the Enosburg Lions volunteer their time to conduct service projects and raise funds for the local community. They contribute to senior citizens' programs, area school projects, community health services, the Enosburg public library, family assistance and drug/alcohol programs, fire and ambulance services, other non-profit organizations, scholarships, as well as to the Lions International sight and hearing programs. The Vermont Dairy Festival is the Enosburg Lions' primary source of funding for these programs with thousands of man-hours and hundreds of thousands of dollars donated to the community.
The Vermont Dairy Festival midway opens at 6 p.m. this evening. Entertainment on the bandstand starts Friday evening at 6 p.m. and the weekend activities begin at 9 a.m. Saturday and Sunday in downtown Enosburg Falls. ENOSBURG FALLS--The Artist In Residence Gallery features Toby Fulwiler, Deb Kiel, and Wayne Tarr and will also feature hand painted items such as sap buckets, pots and berry baskets in honor of Enosburg's annual Dairy Days. The gallery is open Wednesday-Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. ART ON THE WALLS
ENOSBURG FALLS--Meg Cossaboom will hold a Cabaret Informational Meeting at the Opera House at Enosburg Falls on Wednesday at 7 p.m. CALL FOR CABARET SINGERS
The 2014 summer show is the musical, Cabaret. The informational meeting will have audition materials for check out and info "about which role might be perfect for you," she said. The producers will discuss the rehearsal schedule and show scenes from the Broadway revival production.
This is a community theater production.
Auditions will be held June 19 and 21. Show dates are August 22-23.

ST. ALBANS--Twiggs presents St. Albans natives Isaac and Dominic French with a mixed style of blues, pop, hip hop and rap in a free show this evening at 6:30. Vern Colburn returns to the piano in the dining room tomorrow at 5 p.m. ON STAGE LIVE

ESSEX JUNCTION--On Tap offers Blues Night with the Nobby Reed Project tonight at 7 p.m. Vermont's best known blues trio includes Eric Belrose, percussion, Ray Bushey, bass, and Mr. Reed on lead guitar and vocals. The pub has live music lined up for every evening in March.

BURLINGTON--The 31st anniversary Discover Jazz Festival continues through June 8 with more than 100 well known national and Vermont touring artists on stage at the Flynn, up and down the Marketplace, and in venues around the City. WPTZ featured the Enosburg Falls Jazz Combo on Church Street earlier this week.
Leunigs Bistro hosts what Will Patton says "Might be our favorite gig of the year," the street party under the stars on Friday, starting at 9 p.m.
The 40th Army Band Vermont National Guard will be at Halvorson's Top Block Stage on Saturday at 5 p.m., the Starline Rhythm Boys at American Flatbread at 5:30 p.m. and Mr. Patton will be back with Lewis Franco & the Missing Cats at Leunigs on Saturday at 5:30 to scat through more '40s jive.

MONTGOMERY CENTER--The INN presents the Missisquoi River Band featuring Cindy and Jim Weed and Pat Murphy with special guest Neil Rossi on fiddle and mandolin on the deck (if the weather cooperates) on Friday evening at 7:30 p.m.
ST. ALBANS--The Nobby Reed Project concert in the Downtown Summer Concert Series was rescheduled in the E.A. Loomis Bandshell in Taylor Park to tomorrow evening at 6 p.m.
SOUTH BURLINGTON--Higher Ground presents Justice, Mindtrap, and Stone Bullet in the Rock for Rescue II benefit concert on Friday evening at 7 p.m.
Stone Bullet's sound, rooted in Guns N' Roses to early Aerosmith, blends infectious choruses with driving rhythmic power. Justice mixes the 70s, 80s, 90s and current dance rock with high energy, flash, and flare. Mindtrap is the ground shaking local Vermont band with an edge.
Franklin County Humane Society is celebrating its 50th anniversary of sheltering and saving growing numbers of abused and abandoned animals since 1964. The future of FCHS depends on caring, generous individuals to ensure its ability to shelter these animals until they can find their rightly deserved loving permanent homes.

ST. ALBANS--The Twiggs Comedy For A Cause series moves to the Bliss Room in the St. Albans Historical Museum Saturday evening at 5:15 p.m. Note the new location and time. The evening will raise money to support the Blooming Minds Enrichment Center.
Colin Ryan of A Stand Up Life produces the show. Admission is $25. There are just 75 seats available at the restaurant. Call Heather Deslauriers (802.309.0750) for tickets.
