ENOSBURG FALLS--The Artist In Residence Gallery features different artists each month. This month, the spotlight is on cabinet maker Hans Jaensch, makers of everything Barbara Langevin and Larry Langlois, and water-colorist Beth McAdams. The A.I.R. gallery hosts a free meet-the-artists reception with refreshments on Sunday from 1 - 4 p.m. The exhibit continues through the end of August. ART ON THE WALLS
Hans Jaensch specializes in the Colonial American and Federal styles with built-in kitchens, bookcases, fine furniture, libraries, armoires, and bedroom suites. Smaller jobs are also in his repertoire, such as fine furniture repair and refinishing work. He is now working on two blanket chests and "I'm still having fun and making lots of sawdust!"
Larry Langlois and Barb Langevin have bought and sold antiques for years. Mr. Langlois create unique items from recycled vintage pieces. They first used vintage silverware for candle holders. Their Upscale Silvertiques line of gifts and jewelry "has been very rewarding." They also design new pieces to compliment buyer favorites.
Beth McAdams focuses on simplification as she breaks down complicated structures into simple shapes, using a simple palette of the primary colors and just one form such as one rose or one boat. Lately she has experimented with painting on an iPad as another way to express herself. "I find it's free and a lot of fun. And it has the advantage of being able to be printed inexpensively."
The Artist in Residence art cooperative features paintings, fiber arts, stained glass, sculpture, lamps, pottery, folk art boxes, scarves, hats and more by 45 Franklin County and surrounding area artists. It is owned and operated by the artists and sponsors. The gallery, located at 321 Main Street, is open Wednesday-Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. plus the first Sunday of each month, noon to 5 p.m.
Today through Sunday, Vermont's finest country fair takes to the fields of Highgate as the 38th annual Franklin County Field Days brings a lineup of the best music, arts and crafts, and of course weeds that Franklin County has to offer. The musical lineup includes more continuous music every day than ever before. And it all begins today at 12 noon. FRANKLIN COUNTY FIELD DAYS
Franklin County Homemakers Club will hold an ongoing quilt demonstration and quilt raffle. And don't forget the free corn eating contest in front of the Saloon.
Music starts at 2 p.m. today as Highgate singer Alanna Freeman takes over the Main Stage. Chasing 440 plays through the afternoon. Summer Sounds favorites Dark Horse will burn down the stage starting at 7:30.
Joey the Clown begins walking around the grounds far earlier on Supercharged Friday than the Parade of Antique Tractors but after the oxen pull. Also tomorrow, Alana Freeman returns to start the day followed by the Jim Daniels Band, Carol Ann Jones and the Superchargers, and Side Show Bob, all on the Main Stage.
On Saturday comedy hypnotist Joey Allen helps you catch up on nap in the morning. The Keeghan Nolan Band plays the afternoon. Movin'On featuring Plattsburgh's Chad Rabideau takes the evening gig on the Main Stage.
The Missisquoi River Band lights up Sunday morning and the Nobby Reed Project anchors the stage until the Field Days gates close.
Field Days has "One Price" admission of $10 per day for adults, teens, and children over three feet tall. It includes all midway rides, exhibits, and entertainment. Children under three feet tall are admitted for free. A limited number of rides may be available for small children. Parking costs just $1 per car inside and outside of the gate.

ESSEX JUNCTION--On Tap offers Blues Night with the Nobby Reed Project this evening at 7 p.m. Simply the best in the land, Vermont's premiere blues trio includes Eric Belrose, percussion, Ray Bushey, bass, and Mr. Reed on lead guitar and vocals. The Phil Abair Band plays Friday at 9. ON STAGE LIVE

MONTGOMERY--The 25th season of Concerts by the Common continues with The Green Mountain Chorus at Pratt Hall on Saturday at 8 p.m.
The Chorus sings in the a capella Barbershop style without any musical instruments. They always have in Four Part Harmony with Tenor, Lead, Baritone and Bass. Barbershop is similar to other forms of a capella and doo wopp harmonies but with a unique arrangement. The term "Barbershop" itself comes from the 1910 song, Play That Barbershop Chord.
The 35 active members of the Chorus come from all over Vermont and Quebec and include Carlton Annis of Jeffersonville; Dan Blouin, St. Albans; Buzzy Bussell, East Fairfield; Walter Crowley, Fairfax; Jim Walsh, St. Albans; and Bob Zelazo, Highgate.
Admission is $18 ($15 for members of the Montgomery Historical Society). Advance tickets are available at Lutz Automotive (802-326-4528).
FAIRFAX--The Fairfax Summer Concert Series presents the Fairfax Fletcher Westford Band on the lawn outside the Middle School Gym on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m.
Admission is free. Bring your blanket, lawn chairs, and family. In the case of rain the concert will be held in the gym.
ST. ALBANS--Chow!Bella is making a change, giving up the Chow!Bella name in favor of Twiggs. The upcoming Open Mic night on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. will be in the "Window at Twiggs." The window rolls up to put tables and chairs outside.

FESTIVAL OF THE ARTS (Now)--The fifth annual Cambridge Arts Council Festival of the Arts has 40 artists registered but there is room for more. Registered participant in this years' festival could win a drawing to receive a full refund the registration fee. LAST CALL FOR ARTISTS
The Festival takes place with Fine Art, food and music on Jeffersonville's Main Street on August 10 from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. (rain or shine). Music will be provided by the Green Mountain Swing Band and Eight 02.

ST. ALBANS--Rockin' Ron the Friendly Pirate shows up at the St. Albans Free Library this afternoon at 1 p.m.
The St. Albans Free Library begins the Fourth Annual Film Noir Festival on Classic Movie Night tonight at 6 p.m. They will screen four noir movies, one each week. The series begins tonight with 1945's Mildred Pierce.
The library shows a newsreel, cartoon, and trailer of coming attractions before each weekly movie. All films are shown on the 4' by 6' screen in the upstairs conference room "cinema." Admission is free, along with popcorn and a beverage.
