Stop in for live music and more at the Fairfax Music Sessions at the Foothills Bakery in Fairfax most Saturday afternoons at 1 p.m., at various restaurants around Franklin County throughout the week, at the Bayside in St Albans Town most Sunday afternoons, and the Cambridge CoffeeHouses at 7 p.m. on the first and third Wednesday of every month.

ENOSBURG FALLS--The Artist In Residence Gallery features different artists each month. This month, the spotlight is on the artists of the Life Drawing Group. The A.I.R. gallery hosts a free meet-the-artists reception with refreshments on Sunday from 1 - 4 p.m. The exhibit continues through the end of January ART ON THE WALLS
The Enosburgh Life Drawing Group includes local artists Eileen Catalano, Julie Cross, Jim Foote, Nicky Ford, Heidi Legue, Pat Murphy, Charlotte Rosshandler, and Ken Wetherbee who have been meeting weekly for three years at the Montgomery library to sketch from live nude models. Their media vary from charcoal and pastels to watercolors and other paints. The artists will display, present, and discuss their work.
The Artist in Residence art cooperative features paintings, fiber arts, stained glass, sculpture, lamps, pottery, folk art boxes, scarves, hats and more by 45 Franklin County and surrounding area artists. It is owned and operated by the artists and sponsors. The gallery, located at 321 Main Street, is open Wednesday-Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. plus the first Sunday of each month, noon to 5 p.m.
BURLINGTON--Young Tradition-Vermont presents an all-star Reunion Concert at FlynnSpace on Friday at 6 p.m. ON STAGE LIVE
The lineup includes artists who have performed with YTV for an evening of music, dance and song. Much of the most influential traditional and folk music was made by artists in their teens and twenties. YTV finds and provides the opportunities for young singers, players and dancers to learn and perform and experiment as part of this living tradition.

ST. ALBANS--St. Paul's United Methodist Church hosts Twelfth Night, A Winter Celebration on Saturday at 7 p.m. There will be gathering music by organist Bridget Chatterley and the St. Paul's Praise Band at 6:15 p.m.
The celebration features the Northern Bronze Handbell Quartet; vocal soloists Karen McFeeters, John Schreindorfer, and Rosie Newton; the Heliand Consort; and an ecumenical dance group. The event commemorates the arrival of the Three Kings in readings and in song. Refreshments follow. There may be a baby, a ring, or a dried bean baked in the King's Cake.
Admission is by a free-will offering to benefit Martha's Kitchen, Tim's House (formerly the Samaritan House), and the Food Shelf. Call 802.524.5632 for more info.
MORRISVILLE--River Arts holds a Farmers and Artisans Market at the River Arts Center every Wednesday from 3 - 7 p.m. Click here for more info.
ST. ALBANS--Chow Bella has changed the Open Mic Night date to avoid conflicts with New Year celebrations. The next event will be held this coming Wednesday, January 9. Sign-ups start at 6:30 p.m. with a 7 p.m. start time for music.

Florida Keys Art Guild president Joey R. Smith is a fine art photographer working in 4x5 large format film with digital printing. Most of his work is Keys landscapes. His site has a blog that includes a short description of one image at a time, a best sellers page, the Picture of the Month, a gallery with a slideshow of images, an introduction to his process and cameras, a newsletter, shopping cart, and contact info. 2013 will be another busy year in the arts with another 250 concerts, exhibits, recitals, and shows from more than 40 organizations. This column has info about upcoming All Arts Council and Opera House events plus the Four Franklin County Festivals and Town Band plans. We will cover Other Major Presenter plans next week. ALL ARTS COUNCIL WISH LIST
Every Franklin County presenter has planned another blowout year so we all need money and volunteers. From Art in Bloom to Young Tradition-Vermont, please remember that volunteers and a permanent base make up the "back room" that each of these groups needs to continue the programming you enjoy. The AAC needs volunteers to provide the marketing and technical help, have resources, and to host meetings and exhibits, and concerts and workshops for artists, other groups, and local presenters.

ALL ARTS COUNCIL ACTIVITIES
2013 AT THE OPERA HOUSE
The All Arts Council's three primary goals haven't changed: continuing our popular programs, continuing our support of artists and other presenters, and continuing our partnerships. The AAC may also host several one-time shows. Email the All Arts Council if you would like to suggest or host a show.
Summer Sounds, Franklin County's premiere outdoor concert series begins again in July with a lineup of bluegrass, classical, country, folk, jazz, pop, opera, and classic rock-n-roll. Assuming the Towns continue their support. The concerts are always on a Sunday night, always in a Town Park, always at 7 p.m. and always free.
AAC will hold exhibits for artists in all media and pays actual cash money for bands and solo performers. If you are one or know one, email the All Arts Council .
The Opera House at Enosburg Falls also plans a mix of major productions, touring, and community events from the Highbrow to Hoedown, vocalists in concert, musicals, theatricals, to talent shows and art shows.

THE FOUR FESTIVALS
The 38th Franklin County Field Days swells Highgate with crafts, exhibits, agricultural exhibits, cattle judging, antique tractor pulls, rides, and more at the Franklin County Airport. This long running event fills a tent, the grounds, and the stage with popular bands and solo performers from near and far. August 1-4, 2013. Click here for more info.
Taken together, the four major Franklin County area Festivals attract around 100,000 people to extravaganzas of outdoor arts and entertainment here.
The 21st annual Jig in the Valley will benefit the East Fairfield Community Center with a family day of music and picnicking on the last weekend in July. This concert helps raise funds and awareness for the NMC regional health center, pre-school, Head Start, Teen, and Senior Citizen programs.
The 57th annual Vermont Dairy Festival will spotlight Franklin County performers in a benefit weekend for the Lions Club traditionally held on the first weekend of June. Click here for more info.
The 47th annual Vermont Maple Festival in April is the first major outdoor festival of the year. St. Albans City and Town host three days of family education and entertainment. The Festival includes a popular talent show, the sold out fiddler's variety show, a large craft show, embraces many other community events, and offers the biggest parade in Vermont. TOWN BANDS
The Citizens Concert Band begins a new season outdoor concerts starting in June and alternating on Wednesdays between St. Albans City, St. Albans Bay, Swanton, Highgate Springs, and Highgate Falls. Click here for more info.
The Enosburg Town Band performs Tuesdays in the Lincoln Park Bandstand, starting in June. Call Alisa Martin (802.933.2062) for info.
New members (high school age through adult) are always welcome at both bands.
