ST ALBANS--The Northwestern Medical Center Gallery hosts Vermont Life photographer David Juaire of Georgia this month. Mr. Juaire is exhibiting his scenic photos from around the state in all five seasons. ART ON THE WALLS
The show continues through the end of May.
HIGHGATE--H&B Greenhouse's free Spring Preview presents Carol Ann Jones solo at the nursery on Route 207 this evening at 5 - 7 p.m. ON STAGE LIVE
The garden center began 18 years ago with a small shed and one greenhouse. They now have over 20,000 square feet of greenhouses, a shrub and tree nursery, and a renovated yellow barn. The preview will also have hors d'oeuvres from Jeff's Maine Restaurant, desserts by Sweetie Pies, and behind the scenes tours of greenhouse production plus a Container Gardening Seminar with Heather Poire at 4 p.m. The preview is free but the seminar will cost $10 or "bring a friend, 2 for $15." Tickets for the seminar are available on-line or in the store.

ST. ALBANS--Cosmic Bakery presents Missisquoi River Band featuring Cindy and Jim Weed and Pat Murphy this evening at 7 p.m.
Nick Smith is the new chef at the restaurant.
ST. ALBANS--Chow Bella presents The Anatomy of Frank tomorrow evening at 8 p.m.
"The Anatomy of Frank is 100% Vitamin C," founder Kyle writes, "because we only consist of extraordinarily awesome people. We are also like Vitamin C in that the American Medical Association finds no corollary between us and your health." The band Jimmy on guitar, saxophone, and keyboards; drummer Chris; enigma Erik; a bassist no longer named George; and songwriter Kyle.

SOUTH HERO--C.I.D.E.R. (Champlain Islanders Developing Essential Resources) presents an Evening in Concert with Vermont’s own Tammy Fletcher is Mountain Girl at the Folsom Center tomorrow evening. Local favorites Yankee Pot Roast will open the show at 7 p.m.
Admission is $20. The concert is a fundraiser for C.I.D.E.R.

ST. ALBANS--Shooters Saloon presents Justice on Friday at 9:30 p.m. The band is Gary Greeno, lead vocals; Scott Belisle on bass and backup vocals; Todd Dunn, lead and rhythm guitar; Mike Fredette, drums; and Scott Guptill, rhythm guitar and backup vocals.

BURLINGTON--The 8th Young Tradition Weekend features young singers, players and dancers performing in folk and traditional styles in several venues on Friday and Saturday.
The Friday dances at Edmunds School begin with a Family Dance at 6:30 p.m. and continue with a contra dance at 8 p.m. Both feature Mary Wesley with an open band of young musicians with Ethan Hazzard-Watkins, Max Newman and Brian Perkins.
The Saturday showcase contest in Battery Park begins at 11 a.m. - 3 p.m. Performers include Emma Barker and Julia Shannon-Grillo, Luke Bisceglio with Julia Bisceglio, Heather Morris Celtic Dancers, Oscar Williams, Triskele, Sap Run Fiddlers, Matt Brouard, Alya MacManaway, Toben Traver, McFadden Academy of Irish Dance, Rehana Pothiawala, Darren Schibler, Jackson Mathews and Peter Ferguson, Ben Guihan, Loula Zeichner, Omar Bulle, Elias Alexander, Jeh Kulu Junior with Ibrahima Boka Bangoura, Tom Conlogue, Nicolas Babineau, Latimer Hoke, Appalachia North and others.
The awards reception at the Hilton Hotel will begin around 3 p.m. with performances and comments by contest winners, Mediha Jusufagic and the Bosnian Lilies, Andy Kolovos, Rep. Kesha Ram, Scottish dancer Katie Levasseur (current Miss Vermont), members of the Irregulars, Charlotte Cornfield, and Young Tradition Vermont board members.
Contestants vie for cash prizes and awards honoring Jerry Holland, Margaret MacArthur, Martha Pellerin, Sigrid Bronner, Louis Beaudoin, Willy Beaudoin, Ron West, Roger Eastman, Leslie A. and Harold E. Greene, Ted Marsden and Tom Sustic.

GYPSY AUDITIONS--The St. Albans Society for the Performing Arts is casting its summer musical theater production of Gypsy. SASPA will hold an informational launch meeting on Monday at 7 p.m. and auditions the following weekend on Saturday, May 19, at 1 p.m. and Sunday, May 20, at 12 p.m. all in the Bliss Auditorium of the St. Albans Historical Museum AUDITION CALLS
Gypsy is based on the memoirs of burlesque star Gypsy Rose Lee and offers roles for actors, singers, and dancers of all ages. Click here for more info or click here for more info and audition materials.

FCTC AUDITIONS--Fairfax Community Theater Company will hold auditions for the summer production of Charlotte's Web, The Musical at the Brick Meeting House in Westford on May 23, 24, and 25 at 6 - 9 p.m. Final auditions and call backs will take place May 28, 6 - 9 p.m. at the BMH.
This musical has singing and non-singing roles for men and women, boys and girls, toddlers, and infants, of all ages including Wilbur the pig, Fern, Charlotte the spider, Templeton the rat, Avery, Goose/Gander, Sheep, Lambs, Mr. or Mrs. Arable and Mr. or Mrs. Zuckerman, Lurvy the farm hand, plus an owl, a bat, Uncle the pig, fairgoers, townspeople, and dozens of cute baby spiders. Auditions will consist of a 20 minute group singing workshop and warm-up, followed by musical auditions, readings, and scenes. Prepared audition pieces are not necessary.
The read through will be June 2. Rehearsals will commence the week of June 4. Rehearsals will consist of two week nights and one weekend afternoon each week.
