      Stop in for live music and more at the Fairfax Music Sessions at the Foothills Bakery in Fairfax most Saturday afternoons at 1 p.m., at various restaurants around Franklin County throughout the week, at the Bayside in St Albans Town most Sunday afternoons, and the Cambridge CoffeeHouses at 7 p.m. on the first and third Wednesday of every month.
     These gatherings bring new opportunities, gossip, "show-and-tell" and occasional workshops. The booked performances and acoustic Open Mike Nights feature music, readings, and more from the best new artists in Vermont.

SCREAMING!

      The Opera House at Enosburg Falls presents David DeBoy's It's A Scream for a four-day run starting tomorrow with performances on Saturday, then on Friday, October 28, and Saturday, October 29. All shows start at 7:30 p.m.
      The "Horror-bly Funny Comedy" in three acts is the perfect lead in to Halloween, with a plot right out of the 1930s and 40s slapstick movie library. The play is set in the 1950s at a time when the old Hollywood studio system is falling apart and the new TV industry threatens the box office. Young studio head Spencer Pierce (Matthew Stebbins) has inherited his father's film studio when he pays a call at a gothic mansion to lower the boom on his top actor's career. The studio specializes in horror films and their biggest star is Alexander Moreau (Pat Evans), an actor from the Vincent Price/Boris Karloff school.
      "No more fright flicks," Pierce tells Moreau. The allegedly has-been B-movie actor counteroffers that if he can scare Spencer out of his wits, he gets a contract and creative control.
      The Opera House production is directed by Jim Bray and stars Jodi Bray as Maria Yocknestor; Robert Willey as the brick-headed chauffeur Maxie; and Sarah Mitiguy as Elizabeth "Lizzie" Borden who assists in a seance and accidentally summons up some "real" spirits who speak through her in voices otherworldly and "eee-vooool."
      Playwright David DeBoy also produces, writes, and directs instructional, promotional, and advertising materials. He has hosted live teleconferences for The Department of Defense, narrated documentaries for the Discovery Channel, hosted programs for HGTV, and acted in television programs and movies including My One and Only.
      Admission is $10 for adults and $7 for students and seniors. ART ON THE WALLS

ST. ALBANS--The Village Frame Shoppe and Gallery exhibit, iArt ART SHOW, opens with a reception tomorrow evening, 6 - 8 p.m., at the store on Main Street.
      "The iPad and iPhone are the new canvas for artists," said seventh generation Vermonter, oil painter, and iPad artist Corliss Blakely. "Artists can now create anywhere." Ms. Blakely will give iPad painting demonstrations at the reception. She also has a collection of iPad and iPhone tutorials and screen shots online at
      Painter/Sculptor Chepe Cuadra of St. Albans will also create iPad portraits at the gallery during the show. His work has been exhibited nationally and internationally in the U.S., Spain, Italy, Colombia, and Nicaragua.
      The iArt Art Show continues through November 12.
      Village Frame Shoppe offers 500 frame samples and more than 1000, a unique in-house art gallery with works by local artists, printing services to print original artwork onto canvas and other media, and more.       The Starline Rhythm Boys are busy as they carry the spirited country and juke joint sounds of the Tennessee Hills and Texas honky tonks from the 1940s and 50s to Burlington and Charlotte this weekend.

ST. JOHNSBURY--Kingdom County Productions and Catamount Arts present Grammy winning country music star LeAnn Rimes in Fuller Hall on Sunday at 7 p.m. The intimate acoustic concert will benefit KCP's performing arts programs for the local community and area schools.
