ON STAGE LIVE

SOUTH BURLINGTON--Higher Ground presents a Triple Header in the Ballroom: the Josh Thompson Band plus Chris Cavanaugh plus Carol Ann Jones on Friday at 7:30 p.m.
Ms. Jones show was originally planned as an acoustic duo, "but I talked them into an acoustic quartet, so we are somewhat Supercharged," she said Andre Maquera on guitar, Will Patton on upright bass and mandolin, and Gary Spaulding on drums will join her. "It's sure to be a blast!"
Country singer/songwriter Josh Thompson began writing and establishing himself as a rising, working-class country star in Nashville in 2005. He wrote the title cut for Jason Michael Carroll's latest album, Growing Up is Getting Old and landed a recording contract with Columbia, a division of Sony Music Entertainment. He is on a tour now that includes Saratoga Springs and Niagara Falls before he heads to Oklahoma City.
His current CD is Way Out Here.
Country/pop/rock singer-songwriter and recording artist Carol Ann Jones of Georgia is also a dairy farmer and an accountant, but that just adds to her songs about her life's experiences. She wrote her new release Soldier's Song for son-in-law while he was serving in Afghanistan.
Admission is $15 in advance and $18 on the day of the show. Doors open at 7 p.m. Click here for tickets and more info.

MONTPELIER--The Vermont Legislature presents the 2011 Farmers' Night Concert Series most Wednesday nights through April 6. This week Farmer's Night features a Young Tradition Showcase with Hannah Beth Crary and Ben Miller/Oliver Scanlon, Laura Harris and McKinley James. All performances take place in the House Chamber at the Vermont State House.
