ENOSBURG FALLS--The Artist In Residence art cooperative and gallery features paintings, fiber arts, stained glass, sculpture, lamps, pottery, folk art boxes, scarves, hats and more by 45 Franklin County and surrounding area artists. It is owned and operated by the artists and sponsors. The Village Frame Shoppe is located within the coop as a resident framer. The Blue Crayon, a small private studio, is available there for individual or small group lessons. ST ALBANS--Each March the Northwestern Medical Center Gallery hosts the stunning work of Vermont Life photographer David Juaire. His award-winning color photography celebrates the state's places and rich heritage.
The show continues through the end of this month.
ST. ALBANS--The Staart Gallery (ST. Albans ARTs) is a place to show, sell, teach, create, and enjoy art. Artists hold "meet and greets" on weekends. There will be a gallery reception on March 14.
Exhibitors at Staart include Harald Aksdal, Louise Counos, Karen Day-Vath, Maryann Godin, Barbara Hamm, Suzanne Kenyon, Marcin Kropiewnicki, Nelson Parker, Ron Peltier, Stina Plant, Jeremy Read, Jennifer Steinmetz, and Colleen Yandow. Staart will continue to host the rotating exhibit of student art with work by art students from BFA-St. Albans.
Norwegian by birth and an architect by education, Harald Aksdal has always loved to draw. The cornerstone of his work comes from architecture. His attention to detail shows in his combination of pencils, pen and ink, and watercolor in rural and natural landscapes.
The Staart Gallery has a prime downtown location for weekly artist receptions, classes and artist talks, a comfortable upscale environment complete with couches and WiFi, a gallery with a dedicated marketing budget, and space to sell original works and prints.

The 13th season of the Burlington Irish Heritage Festival begins Saturday. It offers the entire northern Vermont community a week of activities leading up to St. Patrick's Day. The days (and nights) of music, lectures, movies, drama and dance to celebrate Irish-American culture and community. IRISH HERITAGE
Most events are presented with free admission There is also a fund raising raffle with prizes that include two round-trip tickets to Ireland
COLCHESTER--Opening night is Saturday for Firefly Productions week-long run of The Irish Play by Tim McGillicuddy at the McCarthy Arts Center Recital Hall at St. Michael's College. The play continues Sunday through Wednesday as well as next Friday, March 14, all at 7 p.m. A reception and discussion will following the opening night performance.

BURLINGTON--The Peace and Justice Center presents 'I Ain't Marching Anymore: A Phil Ochs Song Night' featuring Summer Sounds favorites Jon Gailmor and Jenni Johnson, as well as Colin Clary, Dick McCormack, the Magnolias, Rik Palieri, and Hannah Pitkin tomorrow evening at 7 p.m. at Contois Auditorium in City Hall.

BARRE--The Barre Opera House presents two of Vermont’s hottest bluegrass bands, Big Spike and Gopher Broke, in a late winter extravaganza on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. The double bill will feature the release of Big Spike's second CD: A New Day on Corduroy Road Records.
Big Spike musicians include Enosburg's Bill Gaston, banjo and vocals, plus songwriter Freeman Corey, fiddle; Pete Langdell, guitar and vocals; Neil Rossi, mandolin and fiddle player, vocalist, and songwriter; and Michael Santosusso, upright bass and vocals.
The traditional group Gopher Broke, brings an animated stage presence and soulful singing to the stage.

Wilma Lovely was born on a farm in Calais in 1924. Ms. Lovely creates colorful recycled assemblages on board, slate, and vinyl records. Her early work used primarily wire and electrical components, but in recent years she has added glass, buttons, discarded jewelry, and other trinkets.
