There is a free AAC Networking Meeting/Coffee House at 7 p.m. on the first Thursday of every month. These gatherings bring new opportunities, gossip, and workshops every month at Simple Pleasures in St Albans.
Family entertainment is Franklin County's middle name this summer as St John's Ministry of Arts resumes its annual 3-concert series at St John's Episcopal Church in Highgate Falls, starting this Sunday afternoon at 3:30. MINISTRY OF THE ARTS
The first concert features the Celtic music of Sheefra. Named after an Irish air spirit, this duo's moving interpretations of traditional melodies touch the heart and quicken the pulse. Sheefra is poet Leanne Ponder on Celtic harp and Tim Jennings on concertina. The program begins with evensong at 3 and the concert at 3:30
The Ministry of the Arts continues with Peter and Wendy Matthews in July.
Summer started over again at the Dairy Festival with sunshine, plenty of free milk, and two stages of free music. Now we get to play through the whole summer. A SUMMER OF MILK AND MUSIC
For the tenth season of our Got Milk Summer Sounds 2000 we have a new sponsor and 15 live free concerts lined up for every Sunday evening throughout the summer. We are pleased to welcome the New England Dairy Promotion Board to this solid "Summer of Milk and Music." Concerts always alternate between the Highgate Municipal Park and Taylor Park in St Albans. The popular series places individual concerts in Fairfax, Franklin, and Richford.
The series started in Highgate, so each concert there will have a double feature this summer! Some of our old friends are returning (and bringing new ones). The lineup includes a medley of a capella, bluegrass, classical, country, folk, pop, and classic rock-n-roll. Each summer concert is free. Settle in on your own blanket or lawn chair and enjoy outdoor family music. Bring your own bug spray.
Although the music begins at 7 p.m., you will want to arrive earlier because every outdoor concert this year features a festival or social. Local community groups will host each event with special activities, family fun, milk contests, and enough food to make every Sunday a great family holiday in the park. There will be a special flower fete, an art show, a pet day, and more. Watch this space for the details.

"Free" concerts are expensive. The New England Dairy Promotion Board, the five towns, local business sponsors, and the All Arts Council hire the bands, create the publicity, and set up all 15 shows. They need your support to continue. Please remember to thank the hosts and patronize the sponsors.
The Highgate/Got Milk Summer Concerts are presented by the Town of Highgate and the All Arts Council of Franklin County, and sponsored by Champlain Valley International, Chevalier Drilling, Dexter Products, O. C. McCuin & Sons, Ray's Extrusion Dies & Tubing, and The Tyler Place.
The Got Milk Summer Sounds in St Albans are presented by the City of St Albans and the All Arts Council of Franklin County, and sponsored by St Albans Realtors, the Main Street Merchants and Businesses, select Missisquoi Valley Attorneys, Northwestern Medical Center, and the St Albans Area New Car Dealers.
The Got Milk Summer Sounds concerts in Fairfax, Franklin and Richford are presented by the Franklin Recreation Department, the Village of Richford, and the All Arts Council of Franklin County, and sponsored by Franklin General Store, Franklin Telephone, Dick Wright Ford, Wright Excavating in Franklin; and Blouin's IGA, The Crossing/Riverside House of Pizza, and Pinnacle Peddler in Richford.
Summer Sounds concerts are always in a Town park, always on Sunday evenings at 7:00 p.m., and always free. The rain sites are the Methodist Church and/or the Highgate Arena, the Congregational Church in St Albans, and the Town Hall in Franklin. The rain sites will be announced in Richford and Fairfax.
The summer raffle for the Elder Art Program offers 31 donated items and gift certificates from Chow Bella! Corliss Blakely, As The Crow Flies, Lorraine's, The Garden Patch, The Gift Gallery, Better Planet, Jeff's Seafood, Poncho's Submarines, and Barbara's Bouquet. Tickets will be on sale at various locations. ELDER ART RAFFLE
The drawing will be held in August at a Franklin County Art Show in St Albans City Hall.
