ART ON THE WALLS

ST ALBANS--The Northwestern Medical Center Gallery continues wildlife photographer and Milton Artist Guild member Sharon Radke's solo show this month. In 2015, Ms. Radke began to document the different species of birds on her 22 acre pond in Milton. To date, she has documented 68 species of birds and continues to photograph birds and other wildlife at Pond House every day. 95 percent of her images have been taken in her yard and most others throughout Milton.
      The show continues through the end of February.


ART YOU CREATE

SWANTON--Weather delay: The Swanton Free Public Library will host Dramatic Sunset on Water with Mike Barkyoumb in the Swanton Arts Council First Thursdays Workshop for the month of February today, February 13, at 5:30 p.m. It was originally scheduled for last week.
      Mr. Barkyoumb will lead you through the lighthouse watercolor step-by-step to make soft edges, emphasize your point of interest, mix colors, and other techniques. This class is for all levels. All materials are provided.
      Proceeds from this course will benefit the Swanton Arts Council. The course fee is $35. Tickets are available at the Library or Click here . Email or stop by the Library for more info.


ST. ALBANS--Twiggs hosts Design a Sign: Love Love Love this evening at 7 p.m. This event is SOLD OUT.
      Artist Diane Kingston leads this Paint Nite makes wood wall art to showcase a personal style. Choose from hundreds of unique stencils to build and paint a one-of-a-kind sign. The cost is $55 for tickets. Click here for tickets and more info. Use the code YAYfbVT10off for $10 off.


IN THE ARTS COUNCILS

ST. ALBANS--St. Albans Community Arts hosts its monthly Community Arts MeetUp in City Hall on Tuesday at 6 p.m. SACA needs help. The group brings arts into the community. They have organized art walks and Make Music Day, will be installing an art wall in Houghton Park this spring, and much more. They need volunteers ready to help.

SWANTON--The Swanton Arts Council Writer's Group will meet at the Swanton Free Public Library this evening at 6 p.m. The group meets on the second Thursday of every month. Members can share progress and join in the discussion about longer projects and anything else about writing, reading, publishing, and more.

MARKETING BOOT CAMP

ST. ALBANS--Peoples Trust Company hosts First Page Google Ranking in this week's Small Business Boot Camp in the Second Floor Conference Room today at noon. That may not sound artsy but artists, dancers, musicians, thespians, and writers all have something to sell.
      Digital marketing agency Eternity will cover how to leverage the Google Algorithm to rise in the rankings. That includes your online profile, how to perform keyword research, live website auditing, website fixes and enhancements, and creting the reports that measure success.

ON STAGE LIVE

Friday, February 14
MILTON--The Milton Artists' Guild hosts a Valentine's Day Celebration with live music by James Brtalik at the MAG on Friday from 3 - 6 p.m.
      There will be wine tasting from Maquam Wines, a chocolate fountain, and photo booth to capture the memories. Admission is free for fun for families, friends and couples alike.


ESSEX JUNCTION--On Tap offers Bethany and Troy for Happy Hour on Friday at 7 p.m.

MONTGOMERY--Montgomery Center for the Arts presents Burlington's live-looping, singer-violinist Emma Back with Chicago-based bassist and singer-songwriter Lyn Rye for Heart and Song, a Valentine’s Day concert at the MCA on Friday at 7 p.m.
      This is a donation-based concert so come prepared to make a contribution to the artists. "We encourage you to give generously and from the heart!" Find them on Facebook for more info.


SHELDON--Pub Music Fridays continues with an All Day Valentine's Party at the Abbey with Glass Onion in the Pub on Friday at 8 p.m.

ESSEX JUNCTION--The Double E hosts Tom Larsen and Friends & Reed Parsons in a free show as part of Winter Wonderland at The Essex Experience on Friday at 8 pm. Doors at 7. click here for more info.
      The Double E has live music free every Friday and Saturday night and special events the rest of the week.


Friday-Saturday, February 14-15
ST. ALBANS--The Old Foundry at One Federal presents George Murtie on Friday and the Allen Church Project on Saturday. Shows begin at 6:30 p.m.
      Mr. Murtie plays original songs as well as covers from the 70s including Willie Nelson, Johnny Cash, and George Jones to Elvis and Van Morrison. The Church Restoration Project (A.K.A. "Al 'n Pete") gets its name from its founder. They play mostly Celtic instrumental music that often surprises.

Saturday, February 15
SARATOGA SPRINGS--The Flurry Festival presents Young Tradition Touring members Stella, Hilary, Ben, Hadley, Fiona, Ava, and Eme at the Saratoga Springs City Center on Saturday at 12:45 p.m. In its 33rd year, the two-day event is one of the largest folk dance and music festivals in North America. ST. ALBANS--14th Star Brewing Company heats up February with Jacob Green on the taproom stage on Saturday at 6 p.m.
      Originally from Wisconsin and now a "modern day rambler," the blues singer-songwriter is a one man band and multi-string instrumentalist, performing on acoustic guitar, dobro, cigar box guitar, banjo and mandolin while simultaneously playing stomp box and foot tambourine for percussion and harmonica for lead.
