ST. ALBANS--The Artist In Residence Gallery features different artists each month. This month, the spotlight is on glass artist Cherie Marshall, painter Marianne Marshall, and watercolor artist Linda Wirts. ART ON THE WALLS
The A.I.R. gallery hosts a free meet-the-artists reception with refreshments and a raffle today 4:30 - 7 p.m. The exhibit continues through the end of February.
The Artist in Residence art cooperative features paintings, fiber arts, stained glass, sculpture, lamps, pottery, folk art boxes, scarves, hats and more by 40 Franklin County and surrounding area artists. It is owned and operated by the artists and sponsors. The gallery on South Main Street is open Tuesday-Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Click here for more info.
SWANTON--The Swanton Free Public Library hosts Dramatic Sunset on Water with Mike Barkyoumb in the Swanton Arts Council First Thursdays Workshop for the month of February today, February 6, at 5:30 p.m. ART YOU CREATE
Mr. Barkyoumb will lead you through the lighthouse watercolor step-by-step to make soft edges, emphasize your point of interest, mix colors, and other techniques. This class is for all levels. All materials are provided.

ST. ALBANS--Nelly's hosts Line Dancing with Dancin' Dean this evening at 6 p.m. DANCE
Dean will teach choreographed basic dance steps to a wide variety of music including pop, Latin, country, and more. No partner is required. Entry is $5.
ST. ALBANS--Film School at the Grind Cafe continues its 12-week term of Making a Short Film for Youtube teaches film production from start to finish. On the last day of class, the parents will be invited to a premier of the film that they created. Find them on Facebook for more info. FILM
ST. ALBANS--Peoples Trust Company hosts Copy Writing with Jodi Lawaich in this week's Small Business Boot Camp in the Second Floor Conference Room today at noon. WRITING BOOT CAMP
Do you know what to say, but struggle to write it? Do you know how to write, but are too busy running other parts of your business to get it done on time? Is your writing ok, but you see others doing it better? This 90 minute seminar will cover those questions and more with an emphasis on advertising.

SWANTON--The Swanton Arts Council Art Journaling Group meets at the Swanton Free Public Library on Tuesday at 6 p.m. IN THE SAC
Meetings will be held at the library on the second Tuesday of every month. Art journals, junk journals, art pages and more are on the table and make for fun for artists, writers, scrap bookers, and more. The group meets to share ideas and to take time to create. ST. ALBANS--The Old Foundry at One Federal presents singer-songwriters Chris & Erica on Friday and acoustic singer-songwriter Chris Lyon from Johnson on Saturday. Shows begin at 6:30 p.m.
Friday's popular local duo is influenced by Miranda Lambert, Alanis Morissette, Chris Stapleton, Zac Brown, Poison, Carrie Underwood, and more. Mr. Lyon has a solo career as well as with the Mud City Ramblers. His music covers a spectrum of originals, folk, country, and americana as well as acoustic renderings of modern pop songs and oldies.

ST. ALBANS--14th Star Brewing Company presents genre-hopping Becca and Andy Cartmell's Homebrew Duo on the taproom stage on Saturday at 6 p.m.
The Cartmells mix Celtic, old-time music, jazz, Americana and modern pop covers with originals that use live-looping to combine trad melodies and rhythms with jazzy improvisational motifs and modern chord structures.
ESSEX JUNCTION--Eleven returns to On Tap for Happy Hour on Saturday at 5 p.m.
Scott Guptill, guitar and vocals; Taylor Arsenault, vocals; and Scott Belisle, bass and vocals will offer up a barrage of hits from the 70s to the 90s. Call 802.878.3309 or email for more info.
ST. ALBANS--Twiggs presents acoustic trio AmerikanaBlue with the music of a Greenwich Village coffeehouse on Saturday at 7 p.m.

ST. ALBANS--J.W. Ryan's hosts Squirrel in a Night for Nick on Saturday at 7 p.m. 100 percent of the ticket proceeds go to the Nick Luciano Recovery Fund.

ST. ALBANS--The monthly Blues Jam continues at Twiggs hosted by Vermont's leading blues man, Nobby Reed, and the House Band on Wednesday at 7 p.m. The Blues Jam blows out the speakers at Twiggs on the second Wednesday of each month.
