MEETUP

MILTON--The Milton Artist Guild Photography Group meets at the MAG on Sunday at 3:30 p.m.
      The Photography Group meets every fourth Sunday to share images for storytelling, critiquing, and also to talk about techniques, tips, and inspiration. Each month will discuss a photography topic and set a "challenge" for members to practice new techniques and bring a few photos (printed or on a flash drive) to share. Thursday, January 23
ST. ALBANS--Singer/songwriter Jesse Agan continues his January Residency, Singin' and Wingin' live at Mill River Brewing on Thursday at 6:30 p.m.
      As a solo artist, the Vermont singer/songwriter adds a "modern touch to popular rock music." He is also a vocalist and the guitarist of Shake the Band. The 1/2-priced wings and music took over every Thursday in January.


Friday, January 24
SHELDON--Pub Music Fridays continues at the Abbey with "just a girl and her guitar," Laura Fedele-Rasco, in the Pub on Friday at 6:30 p.m. Ms. Rasco will play anything from Linda Ronstadt to Lady Gaga and also sings with the Burlington Choral Society. Click here for more info.


ESSEX JUNCTION--The Double E hosts a send off party for the Nobby Reed Project on Friday at 7:30 p.m. Doors at 7. This is NRP's last show before their appearance at the International Blues Challenge in Memphis where he will "make the guitar do the talking, make it sing, make it cry from the depths of his soul and rejoice with the angels."

Friday-Saturday, January 24-25
ESSEX JUNCTION--On Tap offers The Duel on Friday and Bethany & Troy on Saturday. Shows begin at 5 p.m. Both evenings feature Franklin County favorites with IncaHOOTs founders John Geno and Kevin Connelly, then Bethany Connor and Troy Millette joining forces again.

ST. ALBANS--The Old Foundry at One Federal presents Burlington-based singer/songwriter Joe Adler on Friday and acoustic trio AmerikanaBlue on Saturday. Shows begin at 6:30 p.m.
      Mr. Adler plays with the Rangers of Danger, the Wee Folkestra, and a.m. rejoice and tours as a solo artist. The folk trio plays the music you might have heard in Greenwich Village in the 60s with some newer songs done the old way.

ST. ALBANS--14th Star Brewing Company presents Chris & Erica live on the taproom stage on Saturday at 6 p.m.
      The popular local duo is influenced by Miranda Lambert, Alanis Morissette, Chris Stapleton, Zac Brown, Poison, Carrie Underwood, and more. Find them on Facebook for more info


ST. ALBANS--Twiggs presents Django Soulo making music from the heart, for the heart, on Saturday at 6 p.m.

MORRISVILLE--River Arts presents Dinner and a Concert with Cricket Blue on Saturday at 7 p.m.
      Laura Heaberlin and Taylor Smith offer a mix of original lyrics and arrangements. They have played folk festivals and stages around the United States and Canada and have released two Eps. Sustainable Kitchen Chef Kate Halladay offers an Indian meal for purchase on the first floor.

MONTPELIER--The Young Tradition Youth Commission performs at the Spice on Snow Winter Music Festival in Bethany Church on Saturday at 7 p.m.
      The Youth Commission is one of the 30 Young Tradition programs. Each year a current or previous member of the Young Tradition Touring Group creates a small ensemble and a program of original compositions/arrangements with mentors/master artists of their choosing.

Wednesday, January 29
ST. ALBANS--The Clothier presents a Roaring 20s Murder Mystery on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.
      The speakeasy will have appetizers throughout the evening as you meet the characters. By the end of the night, one of them will be murdered and you will have to solve the case. Make reservations at Twiggs for 5:30 or 6 p.m. if you plan to dine before show time. Twiggs has 15% off for all attendees. The Clothier is the 1920s era speakeasy next door to Twiggs. JANUARY-FEBRUARY ART DEADLINES

23RD NATIONAL CERAMIC COMPETITION (January 30)--The San Angelo Museum of Fine Arts seeks entries of ceramic art for the juried exhibit. All work completed within the last two years, both functional and sculptural, is eligible. Cash prizes. Entry Fee. Call 325.653.3333, email, or click here for more info.


YOUTH EYES ON THE SILK ROADS (January 31)--The deadline has been extended for UNESCO's international photo contest. The Silk Roads are an expansive network of maritime and land routes originating across Asia, crossing Central Asia sub-continent, the Russian steppe, the Iranian and Anatolian plateaus, and the Arabian Peninsula. ZEISS PHOTOGRAPHY AWARD 2020 (February 4)--The World Photography Organisation wants to see something new: epiphanies, inventions and transformations from the known to the unknown. Submissions should explore the landscape, humanity, science, political or economic changes, or even something they haven't thought of. No Entry Fee. Click here for entry info.
