     Franklin County's arts and music gatherings bring new opportunities, gossip, "show-and-tell" and occasional workshops. There are also booked and acoustic Open Mic Nights that feature music, readings, and more from the best new artists in Vermont.

ART YOU CREATE

MONTGOMERY--The Montgomery Center for the Arts continues the Figure Drawing Workshop in the LAB at MCAKeltonHall today at 5 p.m. The workshop carries on every first and third Thursday of the month. Each week a very groovy group of artists gather to work and socialize.


ST. ALBANS--Ready to rock? Snow Farm Vineyard and Once Upon a Rock host Pebble Art on Sunday at 2 p.m.
      Jean Ferguson picks up a rock or a stone or a pebble and "sees a thousand possibilities." She "shops" for rocks and stones on beaches and shorelines all over Vermont. This workshop will use pebbles, rocks, stones, driftwood and lake glass to create artwork. She provides pebbles, sea glass, sticks, glue, a 5x7 shadow box, guidance and inspiration. Each piece is unique. Call Twiggs to make a reservation if you plan to eat ahead of time. Food and drink also available during the event.

MILTON--The Milton Artists' Guild begins Live Model Mondays at the MAG on Monday at 6:15 p.m.
      The Guild will host one professional nude model for the evening, male and female models in alternating sessions. The sessions begin with quick warm-ups, followed by short poses and then move into longer poses. Bring your own drawing and or painting supplies. The cost is $12 for members or $15 for non-members. ST. ALBANS--Twiggs hosts Paint Nite: Essential Oil Diffusers Birch with Cardinals and Rose Wednesday evening at 7 p.m.
      Paint two glass bottles of essential oil and reeds. Artist Diane Kingston brings energy and fun and will provide all the materials to create your own painting plus has "the refreshments you need!" $38 per person. Click here for tickets and more info. Use code YAYfbVT10off for $10 off.

SOUTH HERO--The Blue Paddle Bistro presents Carol Ann Jones in a solo singer-songwriter performance in the main dining room on Thursday at 6:30 p.m. Ms. Jones will appear the third Thursday of each month.

Friday, January 17
SHELDON--Pub Music Fridays at the Abbey begins this week with a winter-spring lineup. The lightning guitar of John Gratton kicks off a series of house favorites and new faces in the Pub on Friday at 6:30 p.m. Click here for more info.


SOUTH HERO--Snow Farm Vineyard features the Americana music of the Reid Parsons Duo for Wine Down Friday on Friday at 6:30 p.m.

ST. ALBANS--The Clothier presents Burlington keyboardist Andric Severance on Friday at 7 p.m.
      The Clothier is the 1920's era speakeasy next door to Twiggs. Find them on Facebook for more info.


BURLINGTON--Young Tradition Vermont presents a Dominique Dodge CD Release Concert at Hotel Vermont on Friday at 7 p.m.
      The concert will feature her new album, Cà nan nan Teud (The Language of the Strings), exploring the relationship between Puirt-à-Beul (Gaelic mouth music) and traditional dance tunes from Scotland and Cape Breton. Ms. Dodge is a harper and singer who grew up in the White Mountains; she tours as well as teaching the YTV Touring Group and Fiddleheads.

SOUTH BURLINGTON--Higher Ground presents Summer Sounds and local favorite Troy Millette with Pattern Addict and Isaac French in the Showcase Lounge on Friday at 7:30 p.m. Doors at 7.
      Mr. Millette has played hundreds of shows across the Northeast and Canada with touring acts including Grace Potter, Counting Crows, Richard Marx, Rick Springfield, American Authors, Trey Anastasio, Mondo Cozmo, Pete Francis, the Ghost of Paul Revere, Dawes, the Marcus King Band, American Idol winner Lee DeWyze, Noah Guthrie, Scott Hellman, Will Evans and Barefoot Truth, Kat Wright, Madaila, Seth Yacovone, Gang of Thieves, 8084, Jamie Lee Thurston, and more.

ST. ALBANS--The Old Foundry at One Federal presents solo jazz guitarist Bob Gagnon on Friday and Vermont's own The Hubcats -- Fred, Stewart, and Jim, and featuring Cait Huseman -- on Saturday. Shows begin at 6:30 p.m.

ST. ALBANS--14th Star Brewing Company presents classic, new and original songs from the unique perspective of Andy Hoadley on the taproom stage on Friday at 6 p.m.
      The local singer-songwriter "weaves Americana, blues, rock, folk and country together blurring the lines between genres."


ST. ALBANS--Twiggs presents the sweet harmonies and uncomplicated tunes of Dale & Darcy on Saturday at 7 p.m.

ST. ALBANS--St. Albans Rec presents a Mid-Winter performance by the jam band Glass Onion to benefit Hard'ack Recreation Area in City Hall Auditorium on Saturday at 8 p.m. Doors at 7.
