CHRISTMAS GIFTS and EVENTS

      With Thanksgiving so very late, there are only 47 shopping days left until Christmas.


ENOSBURG--The annual Opera House Craft Fair takes over the Opera House at Enosburg Falls on Saturday from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. with talented local artists, artisans, and crafters.

ST. ALBANS--The third annual Crafter/Vendor Event hosted by the Josh Pallotta Fund takes place in City Hall on Saturday from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.

ART ON THE WALLS

ST. ALBANS--The Artist In Residence Gallery features different artists each month. This month, the spotlight is on potter Barbara Colgrove, weaver and painter Janice Decooman, mosaicist and printmaker Shanna Ratner, and fiber artist Pam Krout-Voss.
      The A.I.R. gallery hosts a free meet-the-artists reception with refreshments and a raffle today 4:30 - 7 p.m. The exhibit continues through the end of November.
      The Artist in Residence art cooperative features paintings, fiber arts, stained glass, sculpture, lamps, pottery, folk art boxes, scarves, hats and more by 40 Franklin County and surrounding area artists. It is owned and operated by the artists and sponsors. The gallery on South Main Street is open Tuesday-Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Click here for more info.


ART YOU CREATE

MONTGOMERY--The Montgomery Center for the Arts continues a Figure Drawing Workshop in the LAB at MCAKeltonHall today at 5 p.m. The workshop carries on every Thursday through December 26. Each week a very groovy group of artists gather to work and socialize.


ST. ALBANS--Twiggs hosts two Paint Nites this week. Fall Moon Reflection takes place this evening and Blood Moon Rising takes a new approach on Tuesday. Both start at 7 p.m.

FAIRFIELD--Meta Strick continues the AIR-sponsored 2019 Sunday Afternoon Art Workshops with Seasonal Art Dolls at her studios on Sunday from 12 noon - 5 p.m. Materials and tools are provided (as well as a good time with great people).
      Ms. Strick describes the workshops as, "Loose, experimental, and fun." Each is a five hour opportunity to learn a new technique or improve on another. Try a different material. Share some new ideas. Enjoy exploration and play, and leave with a unique project. Ms. Strick is a mixed media artist who has been "playing with art since she was old enough to clutch a crayon in a chubby fist." The studio can accommodate eight participants. IN THE ARTS COUNCILS

ST. ALBANS--St. Albans Community Arts hosts its monthly Community Arts MeetUp in City Hall on Tuesday at 6 p.m. The gathering will discuss new and ongoing business, meet new people, and discuss any creative ideas that crop up.

SWANTON--Workshop! Swanton Arts Council hosts Drawing Anime for Adults in the First Thursdays Workshop series at the Swanton Free Public Library this evening at 5:30pm.
      This unique workshop with Finley shows the basics of drawing the figure, face, and chibi style. Each participant will receive two professional art pens, instruction on anime proportions and technique, and examples.
      $10 per person pays for the cost of supplies. Find them on Facebook for tickets and more info .


SWANTON--The SAC Art Journaling Group meets at the Swanton Free Public Library on Tuesday at 6 p.m.
      Meetings will be held at the library on the second Tuesday of every month. Art journals, junk journals, art pages and more are on the table and make for fun for artists, writers, scrap bookers, and more. The group meets to share ideas and to take time to create. If you need supplies to get started, check out the library's Makerspace or email for more info.

SHELDON--Fall Friday Night Music Series continues at the Abbey with Bryce Bachelder live in the Pub on Friday at 6:30 p.m. click here for more info.

ST. ALBANS--The Old Foundry at One Federal presents the acoustic and resonator guitars, mandolin and vocals of Cooper and Corn on Friday and the solo jazz guitar of Bob Gagnon on Saturday. Shows begin at 6:30 p.m.

Sunday
ST. ALBANS--Church Street Sounds of the Season presents 8 Cuerdas at the First Congregational Church on Sunday at 3 p.m.
      Soprano Sarah Cullins and Colombian guitarist Daniel Gavira performing traditional Latin American and Spanish rhythms and folklore, exploring the multiple musical identities of Latin America.

Tuesday
ST. ALBANS--Singer/songwriter Jesse Agan continues his November Residency live at 14th Star Brewery on Tuesday at 6 p.m.
      As a solo artist, the Vermont singer/songwriter adds a "modern touch to popular rock music." He is also a vocalist and the guitarist of Shake the Band.


Wednesday
ST. ALBANS--Twiggs continues the Monthly Blues Jam on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
      On the second Wednesday of each month, the gastropub hosts an evening of electric blues. All musicians are welcome to come and play the blues with the house band of Tom Caswell, guitar and vocals; Tom Buckley, bass; and Michael Bishop, drums.
