We squeezed in one more Big Music Week of Summer as our friends continue to play around the County and around the State. There are performances in East Burke, Essex Junction, Milton, Sheldon, South Hero, St. Albans Bay, St. Albans City, and Swanton.

ART ON THE WALLS

ST. ALBANS TOWN--The Town of St. Albans has installed an Art Wall at the Bay, beside the concrete dock. Check out the art and paint more "if you feel so moved."
The Town Parks Committee was inspired by the art walls and quilts in Swanton. Anyone can create artwork on the Bay wall. Offensive themes, words or advertisements will be removed. Artists should tag the Town of St. Albans on Facebook. Work may be painted over at any time.

ART YOU CREATE

SWANTON--The Swanton Arts Council hosts Beginner Colored Pencil Class with Corrina Thurston at the Swanton Free Public Library this evening at 5:30 p.m.
This three-hour class will teach the basics of drawing with colored pencils in an opaque and realistic style. Attendees will discuss and practice techniques like creating shine, creating texture, layering, getting vibrant, opaque colors, etching details with an x-acto knife, blending and more and will practice drawing a few different small items. Each participant will walk away with the basic skills to create a full, vibrant colored pencil drawing and the pencils to do it with.
Space is limited. $35 payable in advance via cash, check or PayPal. Email to reserve a spot or for more info.

FAIRFIELD--Meta Strick continues the A.I.R. sponsored 2019 Sunday Afternoon Art Workshops with Intro to Polymer Clay Techniques at her studios on Sunday from 12 noon - 5 p.m. Materials and tools are provided (as well as a good time with great people).
Ms. Strick describes the workshops as, "Loose, experimental, and fun." Each is a five hour opportunity to learn a new technique or improve on another. Try a different material. Share some new ideas. Enjoy exploration and play, and leave with a unique project. Ms. Strick is a mixed media artist who has been "playing with art since she was old enough to clutch a crayon in a chubby fist." The studio can accommodate eight participants. Click here to register and pay in advance.

ST. ALBANS--Twiggs hosts Paint Nite: Summer And Fall Partner Painting on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
Artist Diane Kingston introduces "art to many that have never painted, and witnessing the thrill and confidence that comes from the creative process." Paint Nite will provide all the materials to create your own painting and provides "the refreshments you need!"
The evening costs $35 per person. Click here for tickets. Use the code PNfbVT for $10 off.

PLAN AHEAD

MONTGOMERY--Michael Domina and Red Barn Studio will host the three day workshop, Making Art at the Red Barn, on September 12-14.
Mr. Domina will show and teach several easy techniques in watercolor or acrylic to complete a painting to be proud of. No drawing skills are needed. Bring some supplies if you have them. The studio has watercolor and acrylic paintings by Mr. Domina and guest artists.
Find him on Facebook for more info
