ST. ALBANS--Free Studio Fridays conclude on Friday from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. in the Claire Payne Studio. The studio is open to artists to get together and work at a studio in the company of other artists. It is all free; bring your own project and materials. ART YOU CREATE

ST. ALBANS--The Grind Cafe hosts the Evening Fall Paint-n-Sip on Friday at 6 p.m.
Think brisk nights, pumpkin spice lattes, hot apple ciders, and spending a couple of hours to create a fall masterpiece. The cost is $25 which includes the "painting experience" with a treat and drink from The Grind.
ST. ALBANS--Twiggs hosts Paint Nite: Birch Tree on Tuesday at 7 p.m.

JEFFERSONVILLE--Back again this year, Cambridge Arts Council has the Halloween Sidewalk Parade on Wednesday at 5 - 8 p.m. IN THE ARTS COUNCILS
The parade begins at the South Silo off Depot Street with noise makers, musical instruments, dancers and more. Come out to see the "must-dos" along the trick-or-treat trail.
SWANTON--The Swanton Arts Council presents Creating Your Best Artist Statement, a workshop by Corrina Thurston, at the My-T-Fine this evening at 6 p.m.
Artists of all mediums and levels struggle with the artist statement. An effective statement can draw the audience into an artist's work. It gives the artist an opportunity to connect with their audience and becomes an excellent sales tool. Ms. Thurston will use examples and tips from gallery managers to show how accomplish your goals.

ST. ALBANS--14th Star Movie Nights are back in The Room, beginning this evening at 6:30 p.m. Doors at 6 p.m. FILM
This year, 14th Star has a poll to choose the movie they will screen. Thursday's choices are Beetlejuice, The Goonies, or E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial. Find them on Facebook for more info to vote for this months featured presentation.
Come early to claim a seat and enjoy some movie trivia. There will be plenty of seating, or feel free to bring a blanket and pillow and get cozy on the floor. Free popcorn for all who attend, a full dinner menu from Grazers, and, of course, craft beer.
ST. ALBANS--Northwest Access TV presents another terrifying Northwest Nightmares Film Festival in which local film makers compete for gory glory and pernicious prizes. Qualifying films will be screened at the Welden Theater on Monday and Tuesday evenings, beginning at 6:30 p.m.
Monday is the Film Premiere and Awards Night with the debut screening of this year's entries. After the film screening, Twiggs will host the awards presentation, food, and drinks.
ENOSBURG--The Opera House at Enosburg Falls will hold auditions for the Best Christmas Pageant Ever on Sunday at 2 p.m. and Tuesday at 6 p.m. The hilarious play will be performed in December. CALL FOR THESPIANS
The play centers on a church community's annual Christmas pageant traditionally directed by the elderly Mrs. Armstrong. When she becomes incapacitated, another church lady takes over and finds she must cast the six Herdman children, two girls and four boys, the meanest, nastiest most inventively awful kids in the whole history of the wide world. They're hooligans, they're free and unsupervised, and great fun to play.
The roles include 25 kids from 6 to 13 and 11 adults from their 20s to elders plus six adult women for the church ladies, women always dressed to the nines for the holidays.
Friday ON STAGE LIVE
ST. ALBANS--14th Star Brewing Company presents Starline Rhythm Boys Live on the taproom stage on Friday at 6 p.m.
Vermont's house band, the Boys perform vintage country, honky-tonk and rockabilly style music with outstanding, real-deal sound, style, energy, and stage presence. They have been together since for twenty years.
ST. ALBANS BAY--The Bayside Pavilion hosts Gypsy Wind live on Friday at 6:30 p.m. It will be an evening with the St. Albans duo of Jesse John Potts and Andy Hoadley playing their eclectic repertoire of freshly interpreted covers and originals.
SHELDON--The Abbey's Fall Music Series in the Pub concludes with Sean Jarvis on Friday evening at 7 p.m.
Friday-Saturday
ST. ALBANS--Twiggs presents popular covers by Roy and the Wrecks on Friday and the acoustic rock, country, and pop of Chris and Erica on Saturday. Shows begin at 7 p.m.

Saturday
CHARLOTTE--Mike Walker hosts a Will Patton Trio house concert on Saturday around 7:15 p.m.
Dono Schabner, guitar, and Thal Aylward, violin, will join the versatile Mr. Patton to play swing, Brazilian choro, bebop, blues, and more. The evening will begin with a potluck dinner with the musicians from 6 - 7 p.m.
Admission is by suggested donation to the musicians of $15. The audience is limited to 40; email Mr. Walker to reserve seats and get directions.
The trio will also hold three parallel workshops on mandolin, guitar, and fiddle from 4 - 5:30 p.m. These workshops will provide an insight into playing different styles on the instrument and how to mesh your playing with other instruments. Each workshop will be limited to 8 participants. The cost is $25, paid directly to the musicians. Email Mr. Patton to reserve a place at a workshop.
ST. ALBANS--Nelly's hosts a special Halloween Bash with Justice on Saturday at 9:30 p.m.
The Justified bash will wake the dead and party with the un-dead with awesome costumes in the Railroad City. There will be cash prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place, drink specials and lots of free swag. Doors open at 9 p.m.
Sunday
MONTGOMERY--The monthly Celebration of Expressive Arts takes over the INN on Sunday evening at 7 p.m. The event officially includes everything but dancing, but there is always hope. Come early for dinner; service begins at 5 p.m.
This month, Matt Crowley is the featured musician; Pat Farmer (Adventures in Sailing) is the CEA featured story teller; and Elizabeth Martin is the featured artist. The local artists, writers and musicians gather to share original and thought provoking work, curated and hosted by Bob and Becca Cummins.
Monday
BURLINGTON--Young Tradition Vermont presents virtuoso Irish fiddler Liam O'Connor and multi-instrumentalist John Blake in a showcase of their music and stories at the Burlington Violin Shop on Monday at 6 p.m. This will be the duo's only Vermont appearance.
Admission is by $20 suggested donation. There is limited seating so reservations recommended. Email Mark Sustic for reservations and more info.
Tuesday
ST. ALBANS--14th Star Brewing Company has Tuesday Nights with Troy Millette on Tuesdays at 6:30 p.m.
The Fairfax singer-songwriter and Summer Sounds favorite has taken up a fall residency on the taproom stage to take us on a musical journey of imaginative covers and new original songs from his upcoming album Living with a Ghost.
SOUTH BURLINGTON--The Point Radio Network and Founders Brewing present the 20th annual Advance Music Acoustic Singer/Songwriter Contest in the Showcase Lounge at Higher Ground on Tuesday at 7 p.m. Doors at 6:30.
The eclectic contest draws seasoned musicians as well as those who have never performed in public in an almost unlimited range of musical and lyrical styles, textures, and tastes. Two semi finals held last week and just two nights ago narrowed the field to half a dozen performers. The winner takes all prize package includes a Taylor acoustic guitar, a $500 award from the Rachel Bissex White Light Fund, and two full days of recording at Meadowlark Studio.
