ST. ALBANS--Turning Point hosts a Painting Social Fundraiser this evening at 6 p.m. ART FOR THE WALLS
The evening will combine food, fun, and fellowship with instruction and all the supplies needed to create a masterpiece. "Yummy snacks will be provided." Call 802.782.8454 for more info.
ENOSBURG FALLS--The 1906 House & Carriage Barn hosts an Art Show and Sale on Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. each day. ART ON THE WALLS

SWANTON--The Swanton Arts Council Writer's Group will meet at the Swanton Free Public Library this evening at 6 p.m. Members can share progress and join in the discussion about longer projects and anything else about writing, reading, publishing, and more. IN THE SAC

Thursday ON STAGE LIVE
ESSEX JUNCTION--On Tap offers Summer Sounds favorites Jenni Johnson and the Jazz Junketeers tonight at 7 p.m. On Saturday, local legends Cooper and Lavoie (the Balladeer and Bluesman) take over at 5 p.m.

ST. ALBANS--TNT Comedy Thursday continues on the Main Stage at Twiggs at 7 p.m. Doors at 6:30. Suzan Ambrose hosts open mic. This is a free show for mature audiences and space has been filling up quickly; call Twiggs to reserve a table. Make dinner reservations prior to the show since only drinks, appetizers, and desserts will be served during the show.
Next up, Twiggs presents Cooie Sings traditional and popular songs on Friday and Graziano Schofield & Slim on Saturday. Shows begin at 7 p.m.

ST. ALBANS--14th Star Brewing Company presents the Lloyd Tyler Band on the taproom stage on Friday at 6 p.m.
Zack Tyler and Jeff Lloyd mix acoustic guitars, bass, and harmonica in a blend of covers that draw from folk, country, rock, blues and Americana genres.
SWANTON--The My-T-Fine presents Scott Aaron Martell live in the Banquet Room on Friday at 6 p.m.
A $5 cover will go directly to the performer.
SOUTH BURLINGTON--The Old Post presents All In The Name of Rock with Justice on Friday at 9 p.m.
This is their hard rocking last show at The Old Post for 2018. 733 Queen City Park Road will be fully Justified.
Saturday
EAST FAIRFIELD--Summer Evenings with Vermont Treasures presents Dana and Sue Robinson at the Meeting House on the Green on Saturday at 7 p.m. with food and drink at 6 p.m.
The evening will feature traditional, folk, and old-time mountain music that explores the American landscape from the Cabot, Vermont, couple who bring songwriting and storytelling, fiddle tunes, clawhammer banjo, melodies, and rich harmonies to the stage.

ST. ALBANS--Nelly's Pub & Grill presents Summer Sounds favorites IncaHOOTS on the taproom stage on Saturday at 8 p.m.
Dave Long, Jeff Wenig, Kevin Connelly and John Geno bring their mixture of country, rock, jazz, and pop. $5 cover.
Monday
ENOSBURG--The Enosburg Falls United Methodist Church hosts People, Music, and 88 Keys, More or Less: Keyboard Instruments through the Ages on Monday at 7 p.m.
Lionel Hampton and other jazz greats used the marimba and xylophone, and Tchaikovsky used the celeste. With presentation and music, St. Michael's College Professor Emeritus William Tortolano leads an exploration of the harpsichord, clavichord, the pianoforte, and more through the ages. The Humanities for Everyone program of the Vermont Humanities Council is free and open to the public.
Tuesday
SOUTH HERO--Carol Ann Jones hosts Music in the Meadow at the Blue Paddle Bistro on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. Ms. Jones will perform and then hold an Open Mic ever Tuesday, weather permitting, through the summer.
There are tables and chairs outside but it can get pretty busy, so bring your own chair or blanket or come early to get a table or chairs. Email to sign up.
Wednesday
ST. ALBANS--Sean Jarvis hosts Open Mic Night at Nelly's on Wednesday starting at 6:30 p.m. Show off your talent; everyone is welcome to grab the mic and perform any Wednesday evening on the Tavern side.
SCULPTURE GRANTS (October 1)--The National Sculpture Society has three grants of $5,000 each for figurative/realist sculptors. No Entry Fee. Call 212.764.5645 or click here for more info. OCTOBER ART DEADLINES
XPOSURE 2018 (October 1)--The Sharjah Government Media Bureau in the UAE launched Xposure as an International Photography Festival for professional photographers, photography enthusiasts, filmmakers, students and educators from around the world. It offers prizes and travel across several genres for photographers of all ages, backgrounds, and experience. No Entry Fee. Click here for the rules, competitions, and to enter.
EMBRACING OUR DIFFERENCES (October 15)--The theme is "enriching lives through diversity and inclusion." The juried exhibit will include 45 billboard-size images, each created by local, national, international artists. Awards for Best-in-Show Adult, Best-in-Show Student, and People's Choice.
